Current Little Toy Fads (Reception Age)

What are the little toys, that are currently popular with this age range? I am thinking of little playground type crazes.

I am quite lucky as my child isn't really asking for much (so far). There is a part of me that just wants them to have a little something that is the "in thing", but I don't know what that is!! What are your 4 and 5 year olds getting?

My DD is getting new barbies and she has asked for LOL dolls - she has played with Barbies for the past few months but we started out with Asda 'own' version as they are much cheaper!

The LOL dolls are a new thing for us - never really seen them so we have bought her a few balls but arent spending a lot of money (probably around £10/15) in case she only plays with them for a few days.

I would say anything that comes in a blind bag.

Lol dolls, squishies and pikmi pops are still the favourites where I am.

Blind Bags. Lego mini figure ones...or any bloody blind bag!!

SpoonfulOfJam · 06/11/2018 22:06

My son has just turned 5. Influenced by slightly older cousins, he loves his shopkins toys.
He loves very small figures- 2/3 inch high avengers and superheroes.
Also Pokemon cards.

MamaHechtick · 06/11/2018 22:09

DS is 4 and has superzings, they apparently feature on youtube, although he doesnt have youtube and only found them as his friend has them. They are quite good and 80p a figure which i think is really a good price.

MinecraftHolmes · 06/11/2018 22:11

DS is 5/almost 6. He and his friends are all about:
Roblox/Stickbots
Lego minfigs
Smashers
Hotwheels cars
Pokemon cards

Fashionista101 · 06/11/2018 22:27

Superzings!

Same as the girls - squishies, Shopkins, Superzings, Lego minifigures etc. The nice thing about crazes is they rarely fall into gender stereotypes and seem to be shared and swapped with everyone in the playground.

E20mom · 06/11/2018 22:39

I'd get a dinosaur fingerling.

Angelkd · 07/11/2018 08:33

Have a look on toysforapound.com

Lots of blind bags/slime etc and if they’re not a hit you’ve not forked out much so isn’t as big a deal than if you’ve spent £££

BuzzLightyearsHoneyBun · 09/11/2018 06:47

Treasure X
Squishies
Lego blind bags
Slime

The “in” things for my 6 year old
