Scented candles?

Each year I try and find a cinnamon/ Christmas scented candle which will remind me of that lovely homely smell when you first walk into a warm, cozy house at Christmas time in the States.
( I am in the UK).

I have tried all makes and scents ranging from cheap and cheerful to the much too expensive but am never quite satisfied. At the minute I am trying a Yankee Candle , ( Cinnamon Stick) but that doesn't cut the mustard.

I don't want the whole house reeking, just a nice background scent.
Any recommendations please?

White Company Winter candle or Crabtree and Evelyn Noel.

I had a medium sized one from the Body Shop as a gift last year and it smelled fantastic. I think it was called Winter Spice.

Have just ordered the Anthropologie one. Have high hopes!
Thanks to you both.

Home Bargains do lovely Yankee style candles. They have a range of Christmas fragrances with gingerbread my favourite.

I'm not a fan of Cinnamon Stick but "Sparkling Cinnamon" is lovely (its a bit clove-ey)

Second the White Company “Winter” - only one that smells lovely to me and not synthetic

The Cinnamon and Mandarin ones from Muji are AMAZING! I'm not in London but I buy them online every year and people always comment on how amazing they smell.

I’m going to order that Alpaca

White company Winter.

4th vote for winter by the White Company , I bought one this year, I haven't even burned it yet but my hallway smells of it. Strong but not in a synthetic overbearing way. I was a Yankee addict but got fed up of them changing scents and the quality, I wanted one I could buy each year that'll remind me of the last. I love that you can get it in a fragrance oil too, I'm going to pop it on the radiators!

Can I suggest M&S Frankincense and Myrrh? I've used it every year for the last 10 or so....

Now you've all made me spend too much on The White Company website! Bought a set of gorgeous Winterstar tea lights for my daughters in law as well as my candle!

Well the Anthropologie and White company candles have arrived. ( Body Shop are not doing the same candle as last year and their Enchanted Forest didn't smell nice).

Both absolutely gorgeous. I went for the reed diffuser from the White Company and put it in the downstairs toilet. Even the dc are asking what the lovely smell is, top note of cloves methinks.

And the Anthropologie in the kitchen once we've finished cooking for the night. Dc keep on asking if we can light it as soon as it starts to get a bit dark. Doubt DH would even notice if they jumped up and bit him on the nose ( the candles not the dc! )

Thanks all. Saved me so much time and money.
