Advent Calendar Help Please!

So, my mum this year has been even more of a star than usual - I had a nasty ankle injury on holiday in August (not broken, but damage to the ligaments and tendons in it), so she basically looked after me whilst I recovered from that (several weeks - both abroad and back home); now my dad has just had a hip replacement, so she's looking after him too (I am helping where I can, incidentally!).

I would like to put together an advent calendar for her this year - little things to say thank you and that we appreciate what she's done for us. I haven't mentioned it to my dad yet, but he will be on board!

So, I'm looking for things to put in it - I am currently crocheting small stockings to make an advent calendar, but the items don't have to fit in them, I could do it a different way (a 'voucher' for the item, for example). I know it's an ask, but I'm looking for things that aren't massively expensive, as there's obviously Christmas on top of it!

So far, I have:

Earrings
Keyring
Lipbalm
Fluffy Socks
Chocolate of some sort

I know some wonderful people with wonderful ideas frequent this board, so does anyone have any suggestions?? I will be searching online as well, I'm not looking for someone to give me all the answers!

Thanks in advance - I just want to make a fuss of her for being so awesome the last few months. Smile

OP, I know you said you're crocheting stockings, but if you wanted an alternative, I have the empty M&S calendar from last year which is really pretty. I don't have a use for it myself but if you'd like it I'll send it to you for cost of postage. Same offer is open to anyone else who wants this if OP doesn't.

@ScouseQueen

That sounds amazing - are you sure you don't mind? I'm about half way through the stockings, but I would use them for a decoration either way!

Hi, OP, not at all. I don't have any further use for it but I felt bad about just throwing it away - I would be pleased to think it was getting used again and someone would enjoy it. PM me with your address if you would like it.

Rockhopper81 · 05/11/2018 22:35

I think I sent you a PM - let me know if you don’t have it and I’ll try again. Thank you so much - it will certainly be put to good use! Smile

Got it! I'll let you know when it's in the post.
