Digital camera for 8 year old

Any suggestions please?

I don’t really want the Polaroid type as at £1 per print seems eye watering.

Not too kiddy looking, but simple to operate and fairly tough.

Decent pictures but not too fancy (or expensive!). Thanks

I was going to suggest the Nikon Coolpix compact waterproof, as we got it for our dc, but - blimey! - the price has increased a lot. It's a good camera for the children, as it's waterproof, has some shockproofing, and has everything you'd expect from a decent entry-level camera, plus some nice gimmicks like frames and filters.

Yeah ours both have the cool pix and it is fab. They love taking them in the pool on holiday.

I was going to say the Nikon cool pix as well. Or a old smartphone with no sim card. Nice big screen to see the photos and he can edit them right on the phone without having to download to a computer.

Will look at coolpix and instamax then. See if I can find any deals

I bought my daughter when 5 a cheap mobile phone. They all have quite good cameras nowadays. I took the sim and I just let her play with it. I never regretted it, she made lots of great pics, she printed the ones she wanted.

It was the best decision made, I look at so many recommendations for kids cameras, all of them really expensive, the photo quality not that good and they can break it or be fed up with them in a couple of months, not worth in my opinion. I would check for some nice offers of mobile phones.
