Our generation camper van

Does anyone have one of these and is it worth the money? It’s on dd’s list but looks like a big load of plastic rubbish for £70. Happy to be told otherwise though. She has a couple of the dolls and they are really nice quality

DD has quite a few our generation dolls and accessories but we have held off from buying the camper van so far.

Have you seen it in person or just in a magazine. I actually think it looks quite good however it is definately the price that is putting me off. I would weigh up how much room you have, like you say it is big! And how much you think she would play with it. For something that would be played with regularly over the year then I would be tempted to buy it as a main present but not if it would sit in a corner unused after a week.

We have the camper van and the stables and so have to say i much prefer the stables in terms of quality as they are sold with a proper slate roof whereas the campervan is plastic....

That being said it’s not the cheap plastic that snaps easily as it ages and my girls have played with it a lot!!

If anything I would suggest you do go and see the play sets in the shops rather than online as I’m still amazed at how big they are and how much room they take up!!

My youngest has asked for the Jeep (which tows the campervan FYI) and the horse trailer...think we will need to build an extension!!

Sorry that should have read the stables are made of wood.

I'm not sure if second hand is your thing but there's loads on Facebook market place (just change the distance to whatever's best for you). DD asked for the ice cream truck which I refused to pay £120 for, managed to get one on Facebook for £45 - perfect condition with all the accessories.

Thank you Marmalade, I've just found a second hand one near me for £45, I'm now tempted myself!

sweetkitty · 03/11/2018 10:36

I’ve got one upstairs somewhere, IMHO not worth the money

Deminism · 03/11/2018 11:59

We have the ice cream truck and it’s great

Thanks for the replies. I would be open to second hand but the ones I have seen have all stated that some accessories are missing so that put me off. Her bedroom is quite big so we do have the space for it. As for whether she would play with it, who knows! She likes the dolls but mostly just changes their outfits all of the time. The school looks amazing but the price of that is ridiculous as well, they never seem to have offers either

Debenhams have 30% off some our generation items I ordered the ballet doll and two outfits for £41 after I found another 10% discount code worth a look x

I've bought the our generation school. I had a voucher that brought it down from £150 to £137 but still v expensive. Sue loves playing schools and regularly plays with the Argos version of the dolls but I'm still in two minds about the expense. It will be her main gift, if we decide to keep it...
