Present ideas for 11 year old dd (but not technology please)?

My dd has a birthday close to Christmas so it’s always more of a challenge coming up with double the ideas. She’s asked for an I phone for Christmas but we are holding off on this for a bit longer! She likes crafting, make up and baking but we’ve exhausted most of those things in recent years. She’s not keen on theatre trips or shows. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Lego , brilliant for all ages .

CaseStudyResearch · 28/10/2018 14:38

Something for her room - rug, bedding, accessories, posters, giant beanbag chair?

Cookbook suitable for her age.

Trip/day out to London/local city and lunch or afternoon tea.

The usual clothes/books/smellies.

lovesugarfreejelly63 · 28/10/2018 14:38

Have an 11 year old gdaughter, putting aside gifts for Christmas. So far have bought pyjamas, snowglobe, nail polish, some very light eu de cologne, a necklace with her initial on, David Walliams book, a do it yourself bulb planting kit, voucher for Claires Accessories, fun pens, etc. hope this has been of some help.

A glue gun, providing she's quite sensible or you're happy to be on hand to assist. You can get all sorts of glitter glues so quite cool

M & S baboon onesie - they're so comfy

A giant gummy bear (you may not wish to encourage this but they're pretty impressive and fun)

Copic markers

alfiesmam · 28/10/2018 16:05

Karioke machine?
A cookery course ?
Instapix camera
iPod touch
Beanbag for her room
Teen make up course

Girlicorne · 28/10/2018 23:01

My dd is 11 in two weeks, for her birthday and xmas the non-tech stuff she's asked for includes lots of stuff for her room, a bungee chair, a rug, lamp, storage boxes etc all in black and white, books, clothes, sewing stuff, rock painting stuff, cluedo and slime making stuff!! I then add to it with random stuff linked to things she likes, mainly giraffe/unicorn/alpaca themed things!

franksidebottom · 01/11/2018 11:06

Some things I'm getting my dd (just turned 11) Yr 6, a fitness tracker, some kind of art and craft, chocolate moulds, a biker jacket and ankle boots, books, a game for the nintendo wii as we like to play ours still, a personalised phone case and some perfume or nice body spray.

Rainbowsandrascals · 04/11/2018 20:27

Has anyone bought their 11year old a driving lesson?

Ideas for my dd11 include a magazine subscription, clothes for her our generation doll, a new onesie, maybe a badge maker, thinking about an Alexa type product but probably won't this year.

I like the glue gun idea and she does love cooking.

She got a curling wand for her birthday and a particular perfume that she had seen on holiday. previously an animal experience day at a nearby wildlife park, that was pricey but she loved it!

BikeRunSki · 04/11/2018 22:30

Sewing machine?

AtSea1979 · 04/11/2018 22:33

Board games. DS 13 current favourites are HP cluedo, game of life and battleships.
Sewing machine sounds like a good idea.

Starlight345 · 04/11/2018 22:43

I did one for my Ds at 9 couldn’t quite reach the pedals but loved it . I am thinking of getting him lap round a track in super car

BatFacedOK · 04/11/2018 22:46

Yes mine had a driving lesson and loved it. We paid an extra £15 on the day too for the whole thing to be recorded and given to him when he lesson was finished

Driving lesson was fab. So well run and they are away and driving within three minutes so the entire lesson is actually them driving and not wasted by boring stuff like 'this is how we turn the windscreen wipers on' etc

Starlight345 · 04/11/2018 22:52

@Girlicorne. . Looked up bungee chairs . My Ds would love one have you seen any in offer anywhere?

steppemum · 05/11/2018 11:16

hmm, driving lesson, a bit young for that I think.

dd's birthday is on Saturday also 11.
She's getting her ears pierced (cue lots of mn clutching of pearls) This is so they are healed and ready for secondary school in Sept. She has been asking for ages, and her sister had them done at the same time.

She would love make-up, hair curlers etc, but I'm holding off on those (don't know where she gets it from, her older sister and I are jeans and no make up people!)

also, Harry Potter duvet set, and clothes, her Granny is giving her a set of proper art pencil crayons, and paper etc

BlueChampagne · 05/11/2018 13:24

Probably going to get 11yo DS1 a new Portapuzzle, jigway and sorting trays for Christmas.

Audio books on CD also popular - not sure if you count these as technology or not though!

steppemum · 09/11/2018 21:36

dd is big Harry Potter fan, and I have just found a lovely little grown up looking HP rucksack in Primark

PiggeryPorcombe · 10/11/2018 14:54

Ds had a “driving lesson” for his 10th birthday and loved it. The car was dual control and automatic so all he had to do was steer and accelerate. It was a converted Mazda MX5 so quite small. Ds loved it. Got up to 40mph Shock He had done a lot of petrol go-carting though so had a bit of experience.

£19 at the moment. Buy a Gift

Rainbowsandrascals · 17/11/2018 12:21

Has anyone bought their dd a telescope? If so, can you recommend a decent one?

Cachailleacha · 17/11/2018 13:11

Warhammer starter set if she likes craft. They have a Warhammer club at my child's secondary school. Books. Karting.

winewolfhowls · 17/11/2018 13:14

Chinese fingertrap

BusySittingDown · 17/11/2018 13:23

DD1 had a driving lesson for her 11th birthday and she really enjoyed it.

For Christmas she has asked for Converse and make up. She's at high school though so it's what all her friends are in to.

AbsolCatly · 17/11/2018 13:39

Slushy machine and syrups
Chalk pens
Fimo clay
portable canvas stand and acrylic paint set
Those cardboard shapes and paper for decoupage
Exploding Kittens card game

Joanne1991 · 17/11/2018 15:45

How about a few adult colouring books

Lovemusic33 · 17/11/2018 15:52

We have a telescope but it hardly gets used Sad

Dd is getting some craft stuff, she wanted a knitting loom thing, fimo is good (there are cheaper alternatives on amazon), she’s also getting a large Lego set and some slime making bits.
