I've had a scroll through for other threads and I can't see any but sorry if I've duplicated!

My DS turns 2 right before Christmas and I'm starting to think of stocking fillers, so far I've got a couple of mini cars and thinking maybe a small book and some chocolate buttons.

What's everyone else got/thinking of getting?

So we're getting ever closer! Anyone want to update on their gifts?

We're about to get the toot toot mega drivers track which looks pretty good

Lanka kade digger jigsaw
Cosy coupe
Bin men truck -ELC
Wooden threading beads
Digger ride on
Magnetic letters
Dinosaur models
Happyland ambulance
Happyland fire station
Happyland construction crane
Magna tiles
Bosch drill
Asda Kitchen

Happyland nativity
Happyland advent calendar
Jingle Bells

This is between Christmas and his birthday! It is a lot, BUT, we've just moved and he had very, very little currently. I got him a scootiebug and gave it to him a few weeks ago and he loves it. Would absolutely recommend one of those. (DS will be two in a fortnight!)

Stocking will have probably some bubbles, stickers, matchbox car, crayons, chocolate coins and a satsuma.

tangoed2 · 14/11/2018 22:36

I bet he'll love all of it! I'm going to check out the scuttlebug.

Rainatnight · 14/11/2018 22:39

We had the Happyland nativity last Christmas when DD was 18 months and she LOVED it.

EyUpOurKid · 14/11/2018 23:45

We have a scuttlebug and the scootiebug, would absolutely recommend both, really sturdy, especially the scootiebug (and they fold up flat and go in the cupboard which I think I'd a massive bonus)

Although now he "scoots" everywhere, which is a bit like racing snails Grin I strap him in to his reins and hold onto those and he nudges along.

Redskyandrainbows67 · 14/11/2018 23:48

To the pp up thread - don’t give a 2 year old malteasers! Massive choking hazard!

twoundertwo54321 · 15/11/2018 00:08

My 2.5 year old will have the following in her stocking:-
Projector torch
Echo microphone
Whoppee cushion
Plastic animal toy
Bunny soft toy peeking out the top
Wind up frog
Glowing unicorn rubber bath duck thing
Hair clips
Character bath mitt and sponge
Apple threading toy
Harmonica and a whistle
Some nice pens
Chocolate santa
Chocolate coins
Orange

Main pressie is a dolls house from Lidl, 3 books, a dinosaur onesie from next, magnetic dress up game, some toddler dominoes and the Mellissa and Doug ice cream stacking thing.

Sounds like a lot now I've written it down. Maybe I will cut some stuff. Whoooops. It's just so exciting as I feel this is the first year she will really get excited.

canihaveacoffeeplease · 19/11/2018 10:01

Oh the apple threading toy is brilliant, our nearly 4 year old got it 2 years ago and both her and the baby love it.

I'm another one who is a huuuuge playdoh fan, but we also limit it to the kitchen table or their little kids garden bench. Hideous on carpets!

Another massively popular toy that is still played with and loved by both us a Buckle Buster toy (on amazon), been a life saver on many a long journey/supermarket trip! Small enough to be a stocking filler too.

We always add colouring book (usually Christmas themed) and new crayons/pencils, toy car, cuddly teddy (this year a unicorn for the 4 year old and a jellycat bunny for the little one who is obsessed with them) to pop out the top. Some craft bits, toiletries (love the lush sparkly bits ideas, will def be doing that this year), chocs, cheap charity shop bangles, hair clips and I think we're looking pretty good!

We've also got 2 with January birthdays, it really is a shame, but we make it as good as we possibly can, and the presents certainly don't suffer!

This thread is so helpful. I am steeling the lush wand idea. My 2 year old discovered my bath bombs and loves (and steals them!) them so basically her stocking will be lush inspired plus a satsuma and chocolate coins. She needs new play doh so that can go in too. She also seems to get through (and lose) about 100 hair clips a week so there will be some of those too.

Main present will be a brio train track and I’m looking at magformers. I’m also planning on going big on crafty stuff (I guess some will go in the stocking).

zighazigha · 19/11/2018 16:40

Place marking as have a 2 yo :)

Wormwoodm · 19/11/2018 16:57

At that age my ds loved little magnifying pots to put bugs or leaves in to look at.
He also loved a little toy soldier with a parachute which was about £1 in b&m.

Forforkssake1 · 19/11/2018 17:04

Main gifts are:
Duplo dinosaurs sets
Playmobil123 tractor
Books
Big orange fluffy face ball
Cog game from Lidl
Smelly wellies orchard toys game
Hoodies

Birthday is:
Ikea toy garage and cars

More duplo

I could keep going for ages... I love buying him things but try not to spoil him the rest of the year.

PonderLand · 19/11/2018 17:26

We bought our ds (2 1/2) a children's bathbomb the other day at Asda that had a little mermaid in. He was fascinated! He loves his micro scooter, he uses it indoors but we'll be taking it to the park next summer. His favourite toys at the moment are wooden train tracks (big jigs or brio but brio is more £) maybe you count get a train track set and put some extra trains in the stocking or scenery pieces (trees, people, houses etc) he also likes his happyland house. Mothercare are doing a 60% sale off everything on Black Friday so you could save quite a lot there.

yesmelord · 19/11/2018 17:38

DD is 2 on 4th December, present wise it's insanely hard!

For advent she has the happyland advent calendar and I managed to get a happyland gingerbread house of eBay so she can put all the advent calendar people inside day by day.

She's got a puppet theatre with old style puppets as her main birthday present along with books, loads of play doh sets with dinosaurs in (she's Dino obsessed!) and loads of bits and bobs like squishies to open.

For Christmas we've gone with a baby born theme so she's got the girl doll and boy doll along with clothes and baby born equipment
(we have DD2 due in April so thought baby stuff would be a good idea so she can 'help' with her baby)
A tickle me elmo, more book and crayola things. B&m were good for little stocking fillers, wind up toys, squishy things and mini dinosaurs and the like! She's got a few older toddler games like elefun and hedgehog ring toss too so we can have fun on the day.

It's all hidden in the spare room at the moment. God knows where I'm going to hide the presents next year when DD2 is in that room!

lostfrequencies · 19/11/2018 18:35

Ooh thanks for all the great ideas guys!

tangoed2 · 21/11/2018 16:23

Still getting some great ideas from this! Thank you

Really useful ideas off this thread, thought I'd contribute as well!
Best present for DS at 20 months last Christmas was the John Lewis wooden train track set. He (we) still play with it a year on and we can see it being played with for a long time yet.

This year at 2.5 - 3 years old, he's getting...

Stocking:
Thomas tank engine stickers
Monster slippers
Choc coins
Marbles
Chalks
Small Disney Cars toy

"Main"
Box of Duplo bricks - the themed sets get boring
Playmobil playground off ebay
Small garage
Another car
Lots of books: "Spinderella" book and toy set; Maisie Christmas book; 10 books from The Works for £10

MIL may contribute to a good digital keyboard as well, one we can all play.
Considering getting a dressing gown and PJ set.

heathers00 · 24/11/2018 10:57

Small wooden toys are a favourite in our house.

How about some alphabet themed toys perfect for 2-3 year olds.

@BooEekCackle we love Tiger too and plan a raid next week!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 25/11/2018 13:27

I got these fingertip crayons in the Black Friday sale for ds. On the packaging they say non-toxic, edible Shock, building blocks. They look fab

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 25/11/2018 13:27

Indoor climbing frame
Leapfrog Fridge phonics
Wooden Velcro macaroons
Le Toy Van Wooden ice creams
Melissa and Doug latch board
Boon bath pipes
Hape fun wooden railway add ons

Have no idea what to get for stocking bits. Got him Holztiger animals last year and it's been untouched, and we have all the other suggestions on here from older siblings.

baubled · 17/12/2018 08:25

Okay guys time for an update on presents!

I got everything out last night and split them for birthday/Christmas and I found some of it I've just bought for the sale and won't really get played with/bought ages ago and he's not in to it anymore!

Mains are little electric fire bike and toot toot mega drivers.
