Thoughtful But Cheap?

I’m on a tight budget this year, looking for ideas on gifts for loved ones that show care and thought but don’t break the bank!

Photo frame full of happy times? Things like that?

photo frame is a good idea. if you have dcs then they could make a custom picture frame by colouring it in, or they could use special pens and make a mug for each family member

RJnomore1 · 18/10/2018 18:41

Who do you have to buy for and what's the budget roughly?

KC225 · 18/10/2018 18:45

Yes, we could be more helpful with a budget.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 18/10/2018 19:09

Yes need budget and something about who you need to buy for. While waiting for more info, one suggestion is to think how to wrap them beautifully. That doesn't have to cost much and will make people feel like you've put a lot of thought and care into the present before they even open it.

I have to buy for my mom, 57, my boyfriend, 31 and two cousins (female, 27 and male, 30)

Budget wise, I can’t really go above £300 in total Confused

£300 for 4 people isn't low budget to me!

Gherkin91 · 18/10/2018 19:17

I’ve got a nephew who is one but I have already spent on him, which brings the amount down. Being one I have spoilt him Bear

I’ve had a lot of time off work this year due to health issues. I am fortunate enough to be able to spoil my family most years but this year is different. I don’t mean any offence to anyone by stating my budget.

I’d give the photo frame a miss .

How about a photo book for boyfriend with tickets/homemade vouchers for more memories you can make together.

Nice candle sets.

Photo mug or one with a personalised message.

Charm for a Pandora bracelet if they have them.

Bag and purse. I bought a beautiful set reduced on Ollie and Nic cost under £30 for the 2!

If they travel for work a decent travel mug/pretty lunch tubs.

Magazine or food type subscription. There's curry ones and alsorts now.

A voucher for afternoon tea/spa treatment or other local attraction.

Thank you for those suggestions, they’re lovely Smile

I would get your boyfriend tickets to the theatre/concert/show that you would both like to see, and dinner.
Cousins a box of six bottles of wine. In a wooden crate, so it looks classier!

Mum a voucher for a day at cookery school, if she would like that sort of thing, or a wine tasting, or chocolate making experience. Bench or bird bath for the garden (I am younger than your mum - just! - and would love both). Tickets for the theatre, or a weekend away.

I'd advise agaisnt photo frames.
