Wrapping paper is the only thing I always buy in the sales, Sainsbury's the day after boxing day really good quality paper and tags are down to pence. I have completely forgotten what I bought last year so there's a nice surprise waiting for me in the back of my wrapping paper drawer.

We have one of the wrapping paper really useful boxes and keep it topped up with rolls in metallic plain colours whenever we come across any through the year. There are about ten different shades and we do all gifts from it for all occasions, it is great for crafts too!

£1.50 for a sheet of paper Shock

I do love wrapping paper but is it really worth spending a fortune for it to go in the bin? Most of the supermarket do nice paper as does card factory and studio but I think this year im going to use brown paper with fancy ribbon (from family and friends) and brightly coloured paper for the kids.

Genius re the paper tablecloth. We’re thinking bikes (must get organised!) and that would be much much easier.

Does anyone use fabric? If so where do you get it from? I hate all the waste of wrapping paper (especially metallic/foil paper which is not recyclable). So I want to get enough fabric/ribbons for the whole family and reuse them ever year...

mycatplotsdeath · 21/10/2018 20:35

One year I used scarves to wrap my mum and Nanas gifts.

I reuse Christmas fabric and ribbons for our family gifts every year, a lot of them are from when I was a child, growing up we only used fabric wrapping. I love pretty wrapping paper however and I try to choose paper I can use for multiple occasions because the last Christmas ones I bought have lasted me 3 years. :) Ikea has some lovely designs this season!
