Hi, every year for the past few years we have done a family secret Santa for my family (me, dh and dds) sisters family, brothers family, single brother and mum and dad. We spend around £5. Was thinking this year of mixing it up a bit and doing a theme or something to add some challenge and make it a bit different from previous years. Has to be kid friendly as the dc's all get involved too and love it! Any ideas very much welcome. Thanks

Homemade items
Food treats
Something silly/cute
Movie related
Disney(no one is too old for a bit of magic)
Cup/mugs(my fave one)
Funny socks
Pick a name & a colour (that one would be good with alot of u doing i)

Something I did when I had housemates cos there 6 of us in one was was the "£1 challenge" - we spent £5 on our secret Santa and for everyone else we had to find something for £1 it was pretty funny cos u could end up with something hilarious and novelty like or useful, pretty decent stuff from the pound shop like a DVD, toy/game, chocolate or makeup for example.
Could maybe adapt it in some way 5 things that cost £1 each for example.

We would decide mini awards as well -which was the best item and which was the funniest or weirdest.

I would hate to receive tat so agree with the suggestion of mugs or socks. I would also suggest Christmas baubles or books

£1 budget and it has to come from a charity shop.

Thanks for the ideas. I like baubles or books suggestion too! Going to collate the ideas and then the family can have a vote on which they'd prefer so keep them coming please!
