DD was asked by MIL what she would like for Christmas (she lives 200 miles away so we won't see her again before then) and she said a toolbox.

I see lots of toy ones but they all seem more geared toward toddlers than 6 year olds.

Bigjigs Junior Carpenter Tool Set or Brio Builder Construction Set

Stanley Ultimate Tool Kit. I have seen it at Target and it's about 20$ per set.

Could make up one with some random bits. A tape measure is always a good shout, my 5 year old can't get enough of them lol. A torch as well. Places like the pound shop do small sets mostly with screws and bolts which seem aimed at older kids I'd say. Some of the little mechanno type sets are for her age too.
If she is into the engineering side of things bosch do some great sets with electric toy drills where you can put together and apart racing cars and stuff like that.

Amazon have a Theo Klein set for almost half price at the moment. Dc1 has some of the tools.

The Big Jigs one also looks very good.
