House decorations

We moved into a new house earlier this year so it’ll be our first Christmas in the new place. We didn’t have much room previously, but now have more space to decorate.

What do others do with decorations around the house. Bedrooms, kitchens and dining/living rooms? I want to make it look really festive. Interested in things to make (possibly with 3 year old DD) or buy.

Pinterest is your friend! Lots of ideas on there.

Also maybe buy a couple of November or December editions of house beautiful or ideal homes etc. They usually have good ideas.

Lots of lights is nice.

A garland up the staircase.
A nice wreath on the door.

Home Sense and TK Maxx have some nice things usually.

Fairy lights! I put them round the windows and in big jars around the house and they just make the place look so lovely. I also bought fairy light clusters last year which I hung over the dining room table.
