Best toy farm for 18 month old?

Hi, DS will be 18 months at Christmas and we want to get him a farm set. I was hoping for something long lasting that we can add bits to in the future. I think I had a bit of an unrealistic idea of a beautiful wooden set, but they all seem to have really small pieces, so better for older kids.

Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?

TIA

I like schliech animals the best you buy them individually so cost wise they can add up. I think they are so nice they are one of the toys I will keep to pass onto grandkids.

You can't really go wrong with Playmobil at that age, I think.

Another vote for Playmobil, we have a Playmobil 123 farm set and DD still plays with it now at almost 5.

Yep. Playmobil. DS had the paddock with animals and tractor and got a lot of play out if it for quite a few years. You can add on all sorts of other genres too. Just think carefully should you ever decide to get the pirate galleon. 4 hours of my life on Christmas morning putting that thing together.

I agree with the schliech animals. They are expensive, but they are very good value as they will play with them in different games for years and you can sell them or pass them on when they grow out of them.
If you're a bit crafty, you could have a lot of fun making some barns, sheds and fences, green fabric fields, duck pond etc.

Thank you, I'll have a look.......
