Pre-ordering console games

I am trying to find my way with this!

There are a few games that DS and DD want. They are pricey, which isn't surprising. I have pre ordered games in the past, but then I don't know if it's worth hanging on to see if they drop at all before Christmas. I'm on a much tighter budget this year so really trying to get things as cheaply as possible.

DD wants Red Dead Redemption II and Call of Cthulu for PS4.
DS wants Super Smash Bros and Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu for the Switch and Lego Super Villains for Xbox One.

I think it takes quite a while for games to get reduced.

You may be able to find an offer code offering a generic discount which may apply to games eg 10% off first online order.

OH is waiting for the new Call of Duty and I save up nectar points throughout the year and buy it from Sainsburys. I have £10 worth of points saved up to take off the cost of the game when it’s released next week.

Alternatively, you could use a cash back site to buy the game and recoup some money that way.

As far as I know, when you pre-order stuff on Amazon, they give you the cheapest price that it’s been between when you pre-order it and when it released, even if the price goes back up again, so that might work for you Smile
