Looking for ideas for my DS who’ll be just over 18 months at Christmas.

What went down well with yours?

Are scuttlebugs any good? ...He loves books and animal figures but has plenty. Maybe I could get him a farm or a vets office or something?! He’s really active. Loves climbing and dancing. He also likes working out how things work!

We’re not on a budget but don’t want to go over the top so any ideas appreciated.

Also any lovely Christmas traditions you have, i’d love to hear them.

I’ll get him a chocolate advent calendar this year. Last year we took him to the local farm with friends where there is different activities and Santa :) We’ve also booked a Santa train. And we’ll take him to the garden centre to see all the lights and decorations :)

My sons all time favourite toy was his scuttlebug. hes now six and we have it out again for my niece and he still tries to go on it. Would definitely recommend. My boys also loved their wooden kitchen

Mine is just coming up to 2, but he liked ride ons at that age, flap books, balls, cars and rocking horse. Still likes them now! He's getting a scooter for Christmas.

Ive bought my (will be 18mnths at xmas) dd. Toot toot playsets of ebay. A little kitchen, hoover. Some wooden puzzles, a tippee, a funky potty, and a table chair set to phase out high chair. She climbs on them whenever we go somewhere with them.
Im also getting crayons etc.. as shes just starting to enjoy those.
Sounds alot but have got some really good bargins. And most will last a few years.

I bought DD this mini balance bike at 18 months, I think it is more stable and robust that a scuttlebug, now she is 4 and she and her 18 month old brother fight over it Grin

Scuttlebugs are good, but both of ours moved onto scooters not long after turning two, so it might not be used for long. We bought a bigger indoor ride-on around that age, which our three year old still rides (as does our five year old, but he is far too big really).

The best toy at that age, for both our boys, was a Little Tykes Cosh Coupe. That had far more use and is still going strong.
