What to get DH!

I'm already starting to stress about what to get DH, his birthday is very close to Christmas but I've got him tickets to go to something with his friend, however Christmas I'm struggling.

He likes Star Wars but he has a lot of figures for it already so I don't really want to get anymore figures; he also has them on DVD and other merch eg cups, hats etc. I've thought about getting him a signed picture but I don't know how to tell if they're legit or not, and if they are then the cost.

He needs a new phone but I can't afford that right now. He has a watch , iPad etc. He likes tech things so I've debated an Alexa but I don't know how much he'd use it and if that's really a present or a household thing?

Other than that I've bought him a box set of DVD's but I need something for a 'big' present. Will probably end up having to buy him something for his birthday to open, as it's a big one and the event is weeks before the actual day.

So he likes tech things, Star Wars, has recently got an Xbox so if anyone could recommend some good games I might give that a go? Or any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Budget £150, TIA xx

Star wars have Xbox games, my star wars obsessed DP loves them

GummyGoddess · 16/09/2018 13:25

Assassins creed is a great game, get the pirate one!

Thegirlhasnoname · 16/09/2018 13:27

What sort of games does he play on the Xbox? My DH really likes Assassins Creed and a new one of those comes out soon so he is getting a special edition of that game, you could see if he had his eye on and get him a special edition of it maybe?

Thegirlhasnoname · 16/09/2018 13:28

Or if he liked the first Red Dead Redemption game, the (much anticipated apparently) second one of those comes out in November-ish with some big special edition stuff attached so that could be a contender?

Opheliasgoldenwine · 16/09/2018 13:33

He's not actually played a game on it yet, currently being used as a DVD player Blush

for a christmas present, you could get 12 envelopes, and write the month on each of them. then inside, put a date idea that you will do that month, eg: go to the cinema, go to a restaurant

Blameanamechange · 16/09/2018 13:41

A gaming chair?

Bumbumtaloo · 16/09/2018 13:48

Is his phone a contract phone? Mine is and for Christmas we’re DH is paging to upgrade it early for me. It will be wrapped and put under the tree. Maybe you could do that?

cholka · 16/09/2018 13:59

Grown men don’t need crap to do with Star Wars. Why not make a donation to charity in his name instead?

beela · 16/09/2018 14:01

sleep I love that idea! Might have to steal for my DH x

sleepismysuperpower1 · 16/09/2018 14:06

i stole it from someone else that i know, go ahead! Grin

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 16/09/2018 14:08

Airpods? Or other headphones?

Opheliasgoldenwine · 16/09/2018 14:14

@cholka it's what he likes, what's it to do with you?Confused

@Opheliasgoldenwine I've always considered gifts to be something someone wants as opposed to needs. Presumably cholka only receives useful items and never anything for fun.

If he likes Star Wars and Star Trek have a look at www.thinkgeek.com
The postage is a bit of a killer cos they're in the US but they have some fabulous stuff - I've bought so much from them and their customer service is top notch (thinks fondly of her Star Trek transporter room shower curtain) Blush

Geekbox.co.uk do subscription boxes that have a tshirt in each month and random geek stuff. Can't guarantee it will be Star Wars/trek though, but I've had them before and really liked them!
