jumping on because i'm doing elf of the shelf for the first time....,

elf is going to gift DD (7) a unicorn head bauble for the christmas tree, as she's obsessed with unicorns

I also bought a cheap ice cream squishy and elf will be in the fridge eating it....

and one morning elf will be hiding in her comforter, which is an old tatty woolly hat Hmm.....immediately outs self

Following, elf is going to set up a snow slide with penguins down the stairs. We are also away for three days mid December so need plans that he can do in the hotel or car....

for the car, you could sit him in the drivers seat or on the wheel? for the hotel, you could see if they have a kettle in the room. if they do, he could me half hanging out the kettle? bit of a rubbish idea, but as long as he moves....

I did elf on the shelf for the first time last year. DD loved it.

One I won’t be repeating though is the elf sitting in a wine glass on the toilet, little bit of toilet roll tucked in the glass, chocolate raisins in bottom of wine glass...my nephew loved that the elf had had a poop, my rather more sensitive DD actually vomited. Shock

we have got out my dd's building blocks before and built a castle with the elf standing in the top, then got out the toy soldiers/figures and placed them around the castle

Some ideas for this year:

Elf gifts a xmas print blanket and dvd for a movie night.

Elf kidnaps some soft toys and ties them up with loo roll.

Elf sets up a den under the dining room table

My best one last year was when I bought some punch balloons and shoved the elves inside and blew them up. Then wrote "help me" on the balloon.

They loved it.. was a good half hour shoving elves into balloons though.....

A few things we did last year:

Green dye in the toilet (elf wee) - children were horrified.

Wrote their names in flour on the floor - unimpressed.

set up the elves so they looked like they had been playing the PlayStation - they loved that.

OH strung up some tinsel across the room and hung the elves like they were swinging across the room. This was the absolute favourite.

time to add my own ones i have done in the past years:
.mini art easel from the works and make the elf paint.

.tie elf up with string and surround with army figures.(big bag of them in poundland)

.battery operated tealight a skewer and a mini marshmallow and ur elf is toasting a mashmallow.. (added points for slightly charring on the marshmallow)

xmas jigsaw with one piece missing with elf holding the missing piece.

.elf playing snap we has 2 elfs but could use a toy aswell.

.elf floating in the bath on a small poundland drinks inflatable holder.

.shaving with shaving cream on face and holding dads razor

i have loads more but i will add them when i get more time.

another good one that can be spread over two days in the growkng candycanes one

elf leaves ticktaks, tiny small pail and some sugar. child the plants the tictaks in the sugar... when child wakes up next day the candy canes have sprouted up where the tictaks were as if by magicWink

I have taped the elf onto the ceiling before.
Also elf upside down in a tub of celebrations.
Elf always brings ds a present on his December birthday.
Elf turned up in ds’s bed.
Elf went to grandmas after she babysat one night and sent ‘selfies’ to my phone
