Boxing Day Traditions

I've been reading the Christmas and Christmas Eve tradition threads with glee! Just wondering if anyone has any particular traditions for Boxing Day?

We start the day with bubble and squeak for breakfast but that's really the only thing that's set in stone!

Party in the evening with friendship group. All taking in turns to host. Bring bottle and a plate and exchange presents. Usually involving the kids bringing some kind of gane or toy they have gotten and all the adults stealing it to play with.

Its lovely like a 2nd christmas.

The last couple of years I’ve worked Boxing Day .
Dh and boys normally hang out at home or go to the beach. Sausage sizzle on the bbq for lunch!!

We basically just re-run Christmas Day at someone else’s house.
When I was a child we would visit whatever side of the family we hadn’t seen on Christmas Day - so if Christmas Day had been at my mum’s brothers, for example, we would then host my dads brothers family and my grandparents on that side at ours. This often involved a literal re-run, without stockings but with everything else - presents from that side of the family, another roast dinner, games etc.

Now we do the same thing but start a bit later, and have a big tea rather than another turkey dinner. So if my mum is having Christmas Day at hers, we might all be round to my sister’s on Boxing Day.

The build up to Christmas has never been lengthy for us, it’s all about the day itself and the week after.
