It seems that every year MNers come up with a great wee way to get a discount on these fab scooters. I'd like to buy one this year so what are the current top tips?

Oh following. Ds1 would like one to replace his mini as he’s outgrown it.

Lostmyselfalongtheway · 01/09/2018 23:28

Yes please to know this.
Have one for my daughter. Will be buying another for son. Great scooters.

Brilliant scooter, have a look at the micro sprite it's a 2 wheeler one which will last longer than the 3 wheeled maxi

DD went from a mini straight to a Sprite and got the hang of it really quickly. She got hers for her 5th birthday. Definitely worth considering going straight to 2 wheels.
If you sign up to micro scooters emails they sometimes send offers or there was a site in Germany that used to ship them here and it still worked out cheaper.

Our son also l went straight to a Micro Sprite on his fifth birthday. We bought it at Smyths during their ‘spend £100, get £20 off’ offer

you can get them second hand and generally in very good condition. i will link 2 websites below that currently have some second hand ones listed, so you have options depending on your location :))

We got the Sprite one as well, but our DS who is 5 doesn't like it and I am desperate to get the Maxi Micro in red, pref Delux, but cringing looking at the prices...

SweetPeaPods · 05/09/2018 16:02

Is the deluxe worth paying extra for?

sleepismysuperpower1 · 05/09/2018 17:10

found one in yellow if that helps...

My 9 yr old would love one... Is she too big for the maxi?

Pascha · 05/09/2018 17:22

Ds1's came from eBay all black and then we bought new orange handles and red footplate from the main website and swapped it all over. Total cost was half a brand new one.

sleepismysuperpower1 · 05/09/2018 18:48

wouldn't think so. my sister's ids still used their's at 11

AdamBarlowsQuiff · 06/09/2018 11:29

Just wanted to say thank you to @sleepismysuperpower for the gumtree tip. I picked up a mini micro this morning! It's actually got marks from stickers all down the inside of the bar but I've ordered some new stickers to pimp it up. Even with the stickers it's half the price of a new one. Thanks!

sleepismysuperpower1 · 06/09/2018 17:12

no problem! happy i could help x

I bought ds a micro scooter a couple of years ago for Christmas from Very. They had a really good offer for new customers. Can't remember exactly but it was something like £30 off when you open an account and spend over £60. Opened the account, got the scooter then just payed it off straight away and closed the account. They often seem to do these new customer deals on the run up to Christmas.
