Barbie House

DD who will be 4 this year is asking for Barbie related items from Santa.

I have picked up a pink Barbie Car and will gather up some dolls throughout the next few months but what I am struggling with is a house for Barbie.

There are so many variations online and some are crazy money. Any recommendations that are good and sturdy and big enough to fit Barbie sized dolls into.

Thanks :)

We have this one although definitely wait for it to go one sale. Word of warning - the box is enormous so go for home delivery unless you’ve got a van. It’s been played with over and over.

Isadora2007 · 29/07/2018 00:03

That Argos one was down to £49 and in the 3 for 2 two xmases ago. With four dolls. It was great for that price. But not worth more. Thenix WAS massive but the house isn’t. And had a good small footprint. Keep your eyes peeled for it reducing in price.

XiCi · 29/07/2018 13:07

I got the one linked to above for £49. Bear in mind that it is flimsy plastic shit that is an eyesore and constantly falls to bits 😂 dd loved it though

XiCi · 29/07/2018 13:09

I'd have been furious if I'd have paid full price so don't be tempted. It's not even worth half price tbh

XiCi · 29/07/2018 13:10

Oh and as pp said the box is massive and has Barbie in massive letters along the side so you definitely won't be able to hide in plain sight!

MummaL24 · 29/07/2018 13:14

We got ours in Costco it is about the same highly as my daughter she's 8 but the house itself is massive has a pool every room comes furnished I have to say she plays with it daily and we have had it two years previous to this we had another similar one I would recommend wooden over plastic more durable they last years and years and stay in fantastic condition I would surgrsst buying one end of summer when all the sales are on as there unlikely to drop in prices till xmas

MummaL24 · 29/07/2018 13:17

This is the one we have , kidicraft is the maker both the houses we have had fit barbie sized dolls and are so sturdy hope this helps x

We have the above one too. Box is definitely big but dsd still plays with it two years on.

Put a price watch on camel camel camel. They also pop up lots at boot sales and fb unless you specifically want new. I picked up my dd a barbie camper van for £4 at a boot sale last year and put away for Xmas. (Current version was £80 new!) it was as one of her most played with presents.

Vitalogy · 29/07/2018 13:36

Could you get a pre owned one, she'll be non the wiser.

XiCi · 29/07/2018 13:42

Yes the camper van is great if you are looking for barbie accessories. Think I got mine on amazon black Friday last year. She also loves the barbie Aeroplane

Zombiemama · 29/07/2018 16:31

MummaL24 that house looks amazing! I'd quite happily play Barbie's with it too!! Thanks for all the suggestions, yes I am open to pre-owned aswell and have been keeping an eye on local FB sites but nothing of interest yet unfortunately.

I will have a look about the camper van too, thanks for all the recommendations x

We have the same as rhubarb. It gets played with daily and on that basis was good value, particularly if you're looking to build a collection of dolls. I think we had it reduced to 59 a couple of years ago and it's still going strong. The box only just fit into our large saloon with the seats down.

We also bought a couple of packs of cheap clothes from Amazon. They take forever to arrive and aren't the best quality but actual barbie clothes are so expensive!

Toomanycats99 · 29/07/2018 17:59

There's is also a cruise ship we have that gets played with a lot - both that and the camper van more than the house I think tbh.

MummaL24 · 30/07/2018 14:07

We have the original barbie ship which was my and sisters when we was kids it's still in amazing condition considering it's over 25 years old, they don't make barbie bits like they used to my dd has a lot of our bits from being a kid and there as good as New with that barbie house I got it at Christmas Cosco reduced it to £80 but I personally think it's worth every penny as it's solid wood doesn't have a lot of plastic my ds age 4/5 play with it also so I feel it's money well spent they do a cindy version online of the camper van that's good we also have the plane my sister found a Trailer at Christmas just gone as she has a donut van she found a barbie van it makes ice creams donuts burgers sausages that's fab as we have one in real life my daughter loves the fact her barbie s have it too that's worth a look

MummaL24 · 23/08/2018 22:15

Did you find one as there has been quiet a few go up on the fb selling sites

Zombiemama · 25/08/2018 21:28

After all this and lots of Barbie stuff adding to virtual baskets Barbie is now off the list. But she may add it back again. It was much easier when we decided what Santa would bring

Thank you all for the suggestions x

I saw a kid craft one in tk max for £25 recently. We have the elc wooden barbie house which was £60 on offer.
Just for if barbie comes back on the list ofc

Letitgoletitgo · 14/10/2018 12:59

Following for suggestions - my 6yo wants a barbie house too! Anyone seen any bargains? Ideally something tall, 3 storey, but not too wide! And she wants a lift.... I seem to have spent hours trawling Internet and selling sites only to end up more confused!

Angelcd · 14/10/2018 13:16

Kidicraft id say are the best ones ,id shop around tho as u may get one that is on offer x

Zombiemama · 23/10/2018 20:20

Well she changed her mind again and a Barbie House Camper and Car have been bought and hidden in the attic!! All an absolute bargain on a local buyer's and seller site.

I think the house is a 2 story Malibu dream house
