Have I ruined the bread sauce??!

I knew it was all going too smoothly!
As normal, I've made my bread sauce in advance. Made double the quantity....with double the cloves.
Its, um a tad clovey Xmas Blush

Is it ruined, or is there a magic fix?!

And yes I know I can just make some more, but quite frankly, I cannot be arsed Xmas Grin - I have Baileys to drink and crappy Christmas films to watch Xmas Grin

It's fine. Cloveiness will spread evenly overnight. Tomorrow you can test and, if overwhelming, add extra double cream and 2 more slices worth of crumbs.

Yep, extra cream, crumbs and a bit of milk will fix this if needed. I'm making mine tomorrow Xmas Smile.

Hoorah - so it's saveable ?? It's VERY clovey at the minute, but cream and butter might just take the edge off.
Thank you!!

Personally I don't think it can be too clovey. But yes, extra cream and crumbs if in doubt. Do not fret.

I make triple quantities - well, just loads - as we all adore it. I must say Anton du Beke went down in my estimation on Sunday Brunch this am when he said he hated it... tut tut

Mine is made, tasted and approved, and sitting in what I call our second fridge, otherwise known as the conservatory.

I find that liberal applications of cream and butter go along way to fixing most of life's problems......

Skyrabbit · 24/12/2017 23:20

Thanks - am gonna go with the copious amounts of butter and cream.
I have found that as the evening has gone on, and more Baileys has been consumed, that it is way further down on the list of Stuff to Worry About!
