I'm spending my weekend running Santa's Grotto as a volunteer at a local visitor attraction. Yesterday 250 children saw Santa and we'll do the same again.
A plea for parents: if you have given your child a quirky name or an unusual spelling, please don't spend ages correcting our spelling at the grotto. Santa simply needs to know how to pronounce your child's name when he greets them. You are holding up 20 or 30 other people by complaining that your Harry is spelt with an I not a Y. Santa really doesn't give a flying fig if the name is spelt properly as your PFB will still get the Nintendo Switch they've asked him for.
