Just had a huge Tesco order delivered.

Two subs the first Tesco finest vanilla ice cream one litre swapped for half a litre of salted caramel ice cream!

Pate swapped with Olives 😮

OP posts:
SparkleFizz · 22/12/2017 22:32

Salted caramel ice cream is nicer Wink

But those subs don’t sound too bad?

Most annoying sub I had was when I’d ordered size 4 nappies, and they’d substituted size 2 nappies Hmm

Sweetpotatoaddict · 22/12/2017 22:34

Two tiny little white chocolate bears swapped for two huge ones. Win.

littlepoppett · 22/12/2017 22:46

Cocktail sticks instead of drinking straws Shock

defineme · 22/12/2017 22:48

A book swapped for another random book!

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 22/12/2017 22:50

Nappy sacks instead of dog poop bags Grin

thriceweedpostcsection · 22/12/2017 22:51

Oranges substituted for 'Orange Air Freshener'.
Beat that! Confused

user1493841671 · 22/12/2017 22:57

Two luxury chocolate logs delivered instead of two £1 basic ones. I ain't complaining

Lucisky · 23/12/2017 07:20

@judashascomeintosomemoney - I always use Tesco nappy sacks as dog poo bags...
I had asked for 500g of lean minced beef and got a minced beef and onion pie; again Tesco.

Zaphodsotherhead · 23/12/2017 08:51

I don't understand with all the tech we have these days, why the picker can't have an iPad or similar device that automatically sends the customer the list of items as they are picked. That way you could stop them sending you the crap subs, saving fuel and exasperation time! Just s quick 'here's what we are sending'email before the van is loaded. And, if you had time you could message back and day 'OK' or 'don't bother'.

bandbsmummy · 23/12/2017 09:43

@Zaphodsotherhead Waitrose do email beforehand. We normally have Tesco but treated ourselves for Christmas as we had a £20 off voucher.
We had cheese swapped for cheese and face wipes swapped for face wipes so nothing exciting from them.

Last Christmas we had 1 fillet of finest Tesco salmon swapped for 24 fillets of standard salmon. Only DH (and the cats) eat fish.

geogteach · 23/12/2017 10:06

Just got soft cheese with black pepper
Subbed for soft cheese, would have been fine if I wasn't planning to use it in a cheesecake

Sallystyle · 23/12/2017 10:09

Red Cabbage (the special ones that are cooked) substituted with potato.

Cheese board substituted with 4 lots of stilton. I suppose it makes a bit of sense, but really? They couldn't send me at least 4 different types of cheese?

fromtheshires · 23/12/2017 10:29

Tesco do seem to be by far the most interesting with their substitutions from what I have read on here and in the outside world.

Sainsbury's aren't that bad and will at least swap like for like so you wouldn't get chicken nuggets instead of a whole chicken

Doreah · 23/12/2017 10:36

Beef sausages instead of pork sausage meat
I had also ordered some elizabeth shaw mint crisps (£2.50 for a small box) which were subbed for a huge box of benedicts mint chocolate (£6.00 on offer) but only charged £2.50 (win)
2 tubs of double cream instead on 1 extra thick double cream

CheeseGirl4 · 23/12/2017 10:37

I don't do online food shopping, but Tesco famously once subbed a walnut loaf with a whole octopus.

FairNotFair · 23/12/2017 10:39

Ordered: Agave Nectar.
Substitute: macaroni cheese.
(Tesco)

BrawneLamia · 23/12/2017 10:40

I've had real sausages instead of veggie.

Also a bottle of rose wine instead of red.

EvilCleverDog · 23/12/2017 10:40

Asda subbed my bisto best gravy granules with a mabelline great lash mascara

LadyPenelope68 · 23/12/2017 10:43

I once had kiwis substituted with ....... kiwi brand shoe polish! Grin

justpoppngby · 23/12/2017 10:45

A single tiny bread roll swapped for the extra large giraffe baguette I wanted ...for soup for 7 ppl... 😕😂

CaeciliusIstInAtrium · 23/12/2017 10:46

I ordered ready made polenta and got given dried macaroni

ICantDecideOnAUsername · 23/12/2017 10:48

I never get interesting subs. So disappointing.
I got a large pot of cream instead of a small (win).
I do wonder how subs are decided?

Sweetpotatoaddict · 23/12/2017 12:22

I find tesco subs always work in my favour! Sainsburys however sent someone I know a 10kg frozen turkey instead of a finest 5kg turkey. It wouldn't even have defrosted on time Hmm

confusedlittleone · 23/12/2017 12:29

800g Turkey joint swapped for 1.77kg turkey joint- a win but now we're having Turkey every day forever 😂

catsarenice · 23/12/2017 13:38

@LadyPenelope68 are you in Kent somewhere? I was about to come on and say when I worked as a manager in a supermarket that the .com manager came to our morning meeting saying 'you'll never guess what one of my pickers substituted today.., x'
