Smelly Hessian Sacks

I purchased two lovely Hessian Santa sacks for my DDs to leave out for Santa but oh my god they stink.

I've washed them once but the still smell like wet dog.

How do I get rid of the sack smell?

Try febrezing them & sticking them on the washing line/outside for as long as possible

My hessian sacks are over thirty years old. Sorry to say they still smell exactly the same as the day they were bought. It's now one of the smells of Christmas in our house Xmas Grin

I think washing them may have been a mistake! I don't mind the smell as it's another scent of Christmas!

Yes they just continue smelling. Also, the material can make some people itchy. My friend bought one for shopping and came out in a rash.

I’ve done the same thing and don’t want to put chocolate or other treats in them in case they taste bad!

Veryflummoxed · 21/12/2017 08:29

I've never had Christmas chocolate rejected because it tasted of Hessian. Xmas Smile

Ok so fingers crossed for a windy dry day to get them out on the line.

Im glad this is all I've left to worry about! Grin
