My Dd had a list and it only had four things on , one of which was science filter paper!
I have been rubbish and forgotten all about it. I have found it on eBay this morning but none guarantee delivery before Christmas.
Anyone know where I could buy this stuff?
Or whether coffee filter paper does the same thing?? I don't think so.
She just wants it for some colour experiment thing they did at school that she wants to do more of.

Is it litmus paper?

On amazon there is 1 in stock - £9.45

Search for this (I can't link as on the amazon app)

Camlab
Camlab 1171067 Grade 111 [4] Qualitative Filter Paper, Fast Filtering, 55 mm Diameter (Pack of 100)

Says it arrives before Christmas

If it's chromatography, you can use blotting paper - not that that would be any easier to get hold of!
Yes, coffee filters will work too if she wants to do what I'm thinking of - draw on paper, the put bottom of paper in water, and watch the colours grow and split apart?

willowthewasp · 20/12/2017 06:42

Oh sandland that is exactly what she wants to do, so coffee filter paper would work? Brilliant I'll get that

Fisher scientific website is used by labs a lot and is next day delivery - don't think you need an account can just buy xx

You can make nice flowers with coffee papers if you get the ones that are bowl shaped.
If you get the flat cones, try with smarties - wet the outside if the smartie and run in a small spot on the paper. Put the bottom in water, and watch the colours separate into their components - Google chromatography experiments for ideas with whatever shape paper you end up with. (Chromatography paper works the best, the rest are fine)
