Hi

Really struggled with 9 year old DS this year and feel I’ve not bought anything that has the Wow! Factor.

We’ve bought a few footballing things and books. He loves the idea of being trendy and cool Grin.

What have you bought for your boys?

DS is 9 and his list was:
Nintendo switch (not got, too expensive! He has a PS4 instead).
Power rangers ninja sword
Diabolo
Guitar (just started lessons)
Jamie Oliver recipe book
Giant nerf gun (not happening!!)
Captain America Shield (not got)
Punch bag (found an inflatable one in Poundland)
Dancing groot

We’ve also got him a kindle fire tablet.

Amazon dot, plasma ball, drawing stuff, sharks tail blanket, games for switch/ Xbox, exploding kittens game, Pokemon cards, Onesie and Tom Gates and Wimpy kid books. Definitely getting more difficult as they get older.

Ooh loving the sharks tail blanket!

It is definitely harder! He’s losing interest in toys, but isn’t ready for nice clothes ( unlike his brother at that age). Likes playing on the PS4 but not enough to spend loads of money on games. Didn’t need anything big this year so I’ve been stumped! Not helped that his brother has got an Xbox one so it makes DS2’s pile look abit rubbish!

I got it in sainsburys. They also have nice mermaid tail blankets.

My ds is nearly 10, I've got him a tablet, football boots and some Lego.

Stocking fillers I've given him his first bodyspray (Adidas), some Adidas aftershave, hair gel. He's definitely on the cusp of wanting these things so I thought I'd get them! Also got him loads of books, chocolates, socks etc. A really nice football themed dressing gown.

It's a tough age to buy for!

TheweewitchRoz · 17/12/2017 19:43

Eco dot, WWE belt (replica obviously), PS4 games, sports kit & chocolate are what my 9 year old wants. All very particular to his own personal likes.

burntoutmum · 17/12/2017 19:46

formerbabe- DS has asked for deodorant** as “everyone else” has one! So I’ve bought him one for his stocking! Not that he needs it yet..

PS4
Big pile of books
Guitar music (sheet music)
A small Lego Technics kit (largely to get him off the PS4).

Haudyerwheesht · 17/12/2017 19:50

I think my ds will just keep his in his football kit bag to look cool in front of his friends Grin

missyB1 · 17/12/2017 19:51

Ds Is 9 we’ve got him

CD player
Hot wheels tracks
Light up globe
Skateboard
Bop it

Hulaballoo · 17/12/2017 20:17

Is he into board games/card games? Exploding kittens, dobble, king of Tokyo... Warhammer? Building own robotics, coding things, science experiment type things?

TheweewitchRoz · 17/12/2017 20:25

Deodorant / toiletry sets go down a storm in our house as the boys love them!

TheweewitchRoz · 17/12/2017 20:25

Should say, they're all 10 & younger, so deodorant isn't necessary but think the feel grown up!

burntoutmum · 17/12/2017 20:31

Loves games hulabaloo, I’m so rubbish this year! Brain is like mush Grin
