A stocking and a sack?

For DS first Christmas my mum got him a small personalised sack from M&P which is lovely but an awkward size in that it’s too big to be a stocking but too small to fit all the presents in. We now have DD too and this will be her first Christmas I was going to get her a matching sack but I’m wondering if I should not do the sack and just get them both matching stockings instead? I love the idea of a proper stocking at the end of their bed and opening all the bits on our bed on Christmas morning. Anyone else got a sack instead? What do you put in it?

Can your Mum's present/s to DS always go in the sack (so it becomes a tradition linked to her) and then you/Father Christmas do the stockings? I don't think it matters if the present from your Mum doesn't fill the sack.

We've bought a sack but anything that doesn't fit will just spill out under the tree. We have a stocking for the bedroom.

we have a massive sack which is a pain in the neck to fill. You could easily put a small child in it. we also have a small stocking. Why not do both?

Both.
Stocking on the bed filled with things to keep him entertained through breakfast/lunch. Sack, and other gifts that don't fit, under the tree. Opened after lunch (ours is light lunch around 1pm, Christmas Dinner at 6).

When DS was born 9 years ago, I also bought a personalised mamas and papas sack and also a personalised matching stocking. When Ds2 was born, I did exactly the same as I felt I had to treat them the same. Neither of them have ever used their sacks!! They are really lovely though.
