Hi everyone,

We are on holiday up until Dec 23rd, and its DD's birthday on the 24th, so ideas of food prep in the days before 25th are out!

So far I have prepped and frozen:

Parboiled, seasoned and duck-fat coated potatoes.

Blanched sprouts

Stuffing balls

Cauliflower/Broccoli cheese

Pigs in blankets

The rest I will do on the day (Turkey/gravy/honey roast carrots and parsnips).

My question - what from the frozen items above actually needs defrosting first, and what can go straight in the oven? The potatoes are my main concern as I've heard they can go straight in but I'm dubious.....

You can buy cook from frozen turkey. I would think take everything else out the night before?

Sprouts and stuffing balls can be cooked from frozen.

I'd defrost the pigs in blankets prior to cooking.

While the other items can be cooked from frozen, they will of course need a longer cooking time than if defrosted, which might be a problem for you on Christmas Day when oven space is at a premium.
