VTech camera or watch?

My 5yo DD saw her cousin’s VTech camera and has been asking for one. I wasn’t sure she’d understand how to use it, but went ahead and ordered one. Now I’ve learned her other cousin is getting the VTech watch and I fear she’d rather have that! And may get more use from it.

Anyone got one already and can advise? Thanks

We had vtech cameras and had to get rid if them because they have games on them - ie basic computer games. Given that the last thing my kids need is more screen time we had to 'lose' them.
Plus the photo quality is very poor

My ds had the V tech smart watch last year when he was 5 and did enjoy it for a while and took lots of poor quality pictures and video on it, played the couple of games on it, but was pretty much was over it after 6 months. He wore it out a few times but was quite bulky and not great as an actual “watch”.

Thank you. Useful feedback. My DD hardly plays any games - despite having a tablet she only ever watches CBeebies on it! So I don’t think I’d mind too much the games on it.

I imagine the camera is better for pictures and videos than the watch would be?

I haven’t seen the camera up close but I imagine so as it has a bigger screen. My ds enjoyed taking pics and video so probably would have got more out of the camera.

My 5 year old had the vtech watch and to be honest was bored with it within a few days.. I think I'll sell it

Excellent. I’ll stick with the camera unless someone else has other words of wisdom to impart!
