Gift for someone I don’t know that well

I’ve invited a Polish girl who would otherwise be on her own to spend Christmas with us. I don’t know her that well, though she seems lovely!!!
She is late 20s, wears jewellery, likes crazy shoes. What could I get her for around £25?

Crikey! Is she visiting the uk or living here?

dirtyprettything · 08/12/2017 19:39

She lives here, there’s a back story involving an ex husband who she’s now thankfully rid of

A handbag

A purse

Ear rings or silver pendant (lots of silver jewellery in Argos for around £25)

A hamper with polish treats in (if you have a polish shop close by)

A gift bag with various toiletries in.

What a nice thing you are doing OP.

Crazy socks or tights to go with the shoes?

Disclaimer: I am the mother of 2 teenage boys & don't really have a clue...

A hat? A crazy hat? Or a lovely scarf (like monsoon).

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/12/2017 19:45

Scarf and gloves?

Christmascardqueen · 08/12/2017 19:46

something local with history, a special mustard, jam or tea blend?

MistyReturns · 08/12/2017 19:51

Personally I would check out the jewellery she wears & get her something in the same style. Jewellery you tend to keep more than hats & tights & hampers. Over the years she can look at it & remember the time she was supported in what sounds like a difficult time. That would mean the world to me.
By the way - you’re doing a wonderful thing Flowers

Oh tough one! What about a hamper of treats she might not buy herself... chocs, prosecco, nice bath bubbles... maybe a scarf?

GinFuzzy · 08/12/2017 19:53

Lush used to do gift wrap using vintage scarves...?

dirtyprettything · 08/12/2017 20:15

Thank you, I’ve gone for a chunky necklace which seems like her style and some di paloma bubble bath, I’d be pleased with that anyway!

Plus a nice box of chocolates that she can enjoy whilst watching a bit of festive telly. That's a very kind thing you're doing op, very much in keeping with the spirit of the season. My in-laws close ranks at this time of year so this is lovely to hear.
