Do you do all the planning

How involved is your dh in the planning and shopping for Xmas. We have the same conversation every year. I feel like I do all of it. Buying the gifts for both sides of the family, posting his side of the families gifts abroad on time. He will say about a week before Xmas. How are WE doing with things then. Drives me mad .

My DH isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination but he loves Christmas and does (probably more than) his fair share. He has ordered and will cook Christmas dinner, he has ordered most of the DC's gifts, and he put up most of the decorations. I bought and brought home the tree, have done the online food shop for sundries, and will wrap gifts as I quite like that.

Yes I do all the planning for our family celebration.

But I don't do anything for his family unless I feel like it and he doesn't expect me to. I'll buy a present for his mum because I love her and want to buy her something. She thanks me - not him as she knows darn well who bought it. He wouldn't dream of asking me how WE are doing with things. Celebrations aren't his thing. I think they are important.

Oh his family do a secret santa thing so he's already bought the gift for his recipient. I'll wrap it if he wants me to.

I do 99% of it but that's because I love Christmas and I love doing it all.

I have chosen to do all the planning, shopping and cooking as these are things that I enjoy. DH sorts my presents and his DM's card and present. He does the vast majority of the driving when visiting family (100+ miles away) and plays a huge part 🎅🏻 in the family Christmas party. This works very well for us as a family - and has been mutually agreed so there is no resentment on either side.

Very little. As said in a previous thread since I've been with DH I haven't had Christmas with my family. So I buy what I want to buy for our ds. The adults in my family don't do gifts, I have one nephew who lives near by and I do a stocking for him. The DH has to arrange everything else, like where and what we eat, who we visit, where we stay and of course buy his own family gifts.

DH thinks Christmas is overrated but bows to expectations. Has a lot to do with his parent's attitude to it, he acknowledge that my enthusiasm is nice in a way (as long as he doesn't do any physical shopping in person).

I normally start searching mid September for DD (10), things like books, calendar, beauty stuff etc and then look how to get her wish list as cheap as possible.

I do my mum and we do his parents together, I don't believe in the "his parents, his problem" scenario. I like them as well and DD loves doing presents.

Any physical shopping mall shopping is done by me as DH gets grumpiness attacks as soon as his feet touch the floor, I fairly enjoy it though (at 9.30am and out at 11am)

Cards are mainly his job because I see them as a waste of money apart from two elderly relatives without Internet.

Food is done together, festive days out are normally suggested by me but
