My daughter (nearly 3y) has asked FC for a rocket...

...any suggestions please??

She does love a rocket! She has an older brother and is very used to playing with stuff that is a bit too old for her, so I'd rather avoid anything too babyish that she'll grow out of quickly.

I was looking at the Djeco pop up one, does anyone know it or would recommend another one?

Thanks!

Sorry about the longest link ever 😂

What about a make your own rocket craft kit?

glambreakfast · 03/12/2017 09:44

I forgot to ask... if you do have this one, which figurines do you use with it??

Playmobil space shuttle is pretty robust and a little smaller than the happyland so little easier to carry for smaller hands. But both are good.
My then 3 year old also had a cardboard rocket playhouse for Xmas and that was v well loved. Was about £25 I think.

And so do duplo shop.lego.com/en-GB/My-First-Rocket-10815 (good thing about duplo is the bricks can be used to build other things when she gets bored / older).

I like the figures with the Happyland one, thanks.

Her artistic ability (and my patience with her artistic ability!) are a bit lacking for a craft kit I think!

The imaginex rocket is brilliant and super sturdy.

WhirlwindHugs · 03/12/2017 09:49

We have a playmobil rocket that went down very well with my 3 and 4yo last year, they still play with it.

Fitzsimmons · 03/12/2017 09:50

We have the happyland one and the playmobil one. The playmobil one is expensive if you buy all the parts (there are three separate bits; a space shuttle, a rocket and launch station, and an extension for the rocket with a satellite) but it does look great, has loads of bits, buttons etc.

The happyland one is very robust. They both belong to DS who is 5 but they tend to be played with more by DD who is 2. The Happyland one is probably more age appropriate for your DD but the playmobil one definitely has more longevity for play as it's something older children would like as well.

Get her a stomp bottle rocket kit.
this one looks Ok but there are many others. Especially if you’ve got any young adults in the family who’ll enjoy doing it for/with her.

Peppa pig rocket? My LO had one last year for Chris and loved it!

Agree with the stomp rocket - I must have bought these 5 or 6 times for different families (including a couple of times for my own) - kids think they're hilarious and they can't cause serious damage because the rockets are foam.

Does she like Been and Holly? We got that one last year when DD was nearly 3.

BeyondAssignation · 03/12/2017 10:05

We have the happyland one, DS2 still loves it now at 5.8!

haba · 03/12/2017 10:13

The hapllyland one from ELC is wonderful! My children still sometimes play with theirs, and youngest is almost 9!

IHeartKingThistle · 03/12/2017 10:16

We had the Wow toys one and DS still won't let me pass it on - he's 8!

Silverthorn · 03/12/2017 10:18

I second the imaginext rocket/ space shuttle. It is very robust and has lots of buttons/ doors and some figures.

Clankboing · 03/12/2017 10:27

The imaginex one is good.

Die Cast Space Shuttle - Large 8 inch https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003BWM42G/ref=cmswwrcppapi_Bu9iAb4B4MXDN

This one is very robust. DS (very rough on his toys) got it about 12 months ago and it's still going strong.

mercurymaze · 03/12/2017 10:45

how about \link{https://www.hawkin.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/E17237_800.jpg\this} under toys for boys :/

LockingJay · 03/12/2017 10:46

I was coming on to suggest a stomp rocket, but I see others have beat me to it. Kids of all ages love them.
