I am fairly new so don't really know anyone that well.

Gift is for a woman in her late 30s.
It can't be something rude but silly is fine.
Not chocolate or smellies (nursery school, we'll get plenty of those).

What’s the budget?

NewPantsforaNewYear · 02/12/2017 01:45

A scarf is always a safe bet.

Ricekrispie22 · 02/12/2017 08:24

Thermal travel mug
Fingerless gloves
2018 diary from Paperchase
Slipper socks
Nail varnish

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/12/2017 15:13

Don't do silly - it's just a waste of money.

Budget?

RavenWings · 02/12/2017 15:17

A mug
Christmas tree decoration
Scarf
Cushion
Candle
Coffee shop voucher

All fairly inoffensive!

Petalflowers · 02/12/2017 15:21

Yankee candle
Scarf
Bottle of wine/prossecco

next - do a lot of Christmas decorations, candles, Christmas ornaments etc etc

Christmas servishing dish

Budget?

I got prosecco glitter from Lakeland

LoniceraJaponica · 02/12/2017 15:25

Wine

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/12/2017 15:27

Warm socks (Primark do some lovely ones!)
A nice mug is always a safe bet.

grannytomine · 02/12/2017 15:27

Ask around and see what she likes to drink, if anything. If she likes prosecco or red wine then a bottle is good. I hate silly gifts they are such a waste of money. I may be unusual but I don't like yankee candles. My favourite would be a voucher, I know people always say it isn't personal but I like choosing something.

cece · 02/12/2017 15:30

I got some Christmas coffee sachets from Starbucks once.
Another year I got some running socks.
I was very pleased with both.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/12/2017 16:01

I don't like Yankee candles either. I'd be disappointed with a mug too (although have both given and received them in the past) - we have so many mugs, and I always drink out of just two of them.

I'd always be pleased with:
nice notebook and pen
funky Post-It notes
Prosecco
Nice chocolate (tiny box of something good, rather than big box of Celebrations-esque stuff)
Biscuits - M&S tin of shortbread or something like that
book marks (can never have too many!)
Coffee / nice tea bags

Fffion · 02/12/2017 17:23

I bought a personalised mug for my colleague.

Xihha · 02/12/2017 17:46

Sorry, budget would have helped, £5 limit.

Notebook and pens or a scarf sound like a good idea, thanks.

Scratch card?

LoniceraJaponica · 02/12/2017 22:44

I got scratch card one year and won £1. It was a shite present.
