How to put lights on Christmas tree?!

I usually wrap them around the tree but it's a complete faff. I, without fail, end up getting tangled, sweaty and seriously pissed off!
I'm sure I've read something about doing them up and down the tree but can't quite picture how to do it.

How do you do yours and stay sane?

I don't know, I always pretend I'm busy looking for something in the decoration box 🤣 DH does it!

I also take pictures on my phone of the tree lights (in the dark) shows up any gaps and adjustments can be done!

I've bought a pre lit tree this year so hoping we won't have to do it at all!

Otherwise DH checks they work. I stand one side and he stands the other. He passes me the coil of lights and I start at the bottom and work up and down. We use quite a few sets. I always feel we need more or they are not quite right.

Those lights look amazing! Mine are currently in a ball on the floor because I got fed up with them...
I'll try again tonight.

Last year I gave up on the roundy roundy method and went up and down, up and down instead.

This year I've just bought a tree dazzler half price on ebay

Start at the top and go back and forth across the tree, I use more than one set so "miss a layer" and do the next set in those gaps using same method - in case they aren't in sync when flashing or one set decides to fail me mid December. I've bought 4000 lights for the tree this year

Why did my bold fail?
