Canapés at around noon:
Blinis with avruga and soured cream
Croutons with paté and cornichons
Smoked salmon on wheaten bread
Devils on horseback
Maybe something with an actual vegetable.

A couple of hours later:

Roast chicken
Pork, sage and onion stuffing
Roast potatoes
Pigs in blankets
Roast parsnips
Brussels sprouts stir-fried with lardons and white wine
Red cabbage
Cranberry sauce
Bread sauce
Gravy

Salad

Cheese

Christmas pudding/mince pies

Chocolate.

Some sort of canapés as a starter, normally do baked Camembert but we fancied something different this year.
Turkey with stuffing, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, honey roasted parsnips, carrots, sprouts with chestnuts and bacon and spiced red cabbage and gravy and cranberry sauce obviously.
Christmas pudding for everyone else and tiramisu cheesecake for me because I can't stand Christmas pudding.

PumpkinPie2016 · 29/11/2017 21:38

Smoked salmon for starter

Main:

Roast beef (no one except me is keen on turkey)
Roast pork/ham
Roast potatoes
Carrots
Sprouts
Roast parsnips
Gravy
Pigs in blankets
Stuffing

Christmas Pud and brandy sauce

Can't wait!Grin

Vegetarian here.

No starters in order to leave room for all the goodies.

Main
Nut roast
Rose Elliot's Chestnut and Red Wine En Croute x 2 ( 1 with shortcrust pastry, 1 with GF pastry and breadcrumbs)
We have been having this for nearly 20 years and still love it. We make it on Christmas Eve while listening to Carols from Kings College.

Veggie chipolatas
Roasties, Potato and Parsnip
Mashed potatoes and celeriac
Carrots
Peas
Leeks in white sauce
Gravy
And the best bit of the whole meal
Brussels Sprouts 😊

Mustard, Horseradish, Apple Sauce and Cranberry sauce and homemade stuffing.

Rosé to drink and some water.

We will normally have pudding on Boxing Day after the divine Fry Up

There are just the 2 of us but we dress the table and wear nice clothes

Except for the year when we both had the most awful chest infections, just staggered out of bed, cooked the meal, ate a bit of it dressed in our tracks bottoms and vests, then fell back into bed.
It was like an episode of Keeping Up Appearances, with a cast of 2 Onslows. What we were thinking I will never know.

Sorry for rambling, I love this thread and reading about other people's meals.

Me too, to loving seeing what other people have, and now thinking I want devils on horse back, and chestnut something some where, and mmm Baileys custard, or ice-cream!

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 30/11/2017 10:10

No starter because we will have had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast.

Goose stuffed with forcemeat stuffing and apple and date stuffing.
Mushroom en croute and goats cheese pitiver for the vegetarians of the family
Roast potatoes
Roast parsnips with honey
Yorkies
Peas
Carrots
Brussels with bacon
Red cabbage
Cocktail sausages and stuffing balls
Vegetarian stuffing
Gravy
Sauces like bread, cranberry etc because we like them even though we’re not having the relevant meats!

Pudding for DH
Trifle for the rest

Cheese biscuits and membrillo
Mince pies and cream

Most importantly copious amounts of Buck’s Fizz and cava all day!

And then, do it all again on 27th for DD1 birthday!!

Wishfulmakeupping · 30/11/2017 10:14

We won't be having a starter we have a big pastries/fruit coffee breakfast with family in the morn then for xmas dinner....

Turkey
Stuffing
Pigs in blankets for the meat eaters
Gravy

Veggie (me!) not sure probably a veggie filo type effort and pepper sauce instead of gravy

With mashed potatoes
Roast potatoes
Croquettes
Brussels
Peas
Carrots
Carrot and swede mash
Roasted parsnips

Dessert (normally couple hours later!) hot chocolate cake with ice cream

WazFlimFlam · 30/11/2017 18:18

Fizz and devils on horseback, if we can be bothered...

Roast goose or beef (yet to be decided)
Roast potatoes
Brussels sprouts with bacon and almonds
Braised red cabbage
Honey roasted parsnips
Pigs in blankets
Cranberry sauce
Gravy

Xmas pudding with brandy butter

And that is all just for me and DH Blush
