I usually just look on bbc good food but they have a whole category of Christmas red cabbage. I have never cooked it before so all tips welcome.

Oh, it needs to be dairy free too.

Thank you

Delia does a recipe with cranberries which is great.

I use Felicity Cloake’s recipe and it’s fab! Freezes really well (I already have some in the freezer for Christmas!) and is super tasty. Would be easy to make dairy free as it only has a few grams of butter in it which you could (and I use previously) just miss out. Still tasted great!!

Please a link to Delia’s. I tried one recommended last year that was 50/50 red cabbage and onions it was the most vile concoction ever.

You could also NOT cook it: I copied the most amazing red cabbage salad I had in a restaurant in Italy: shred cabbage very fine, roast some pine or cashew nuts, make dressing out of mandarin juice, olive oil and salt and let the cabbage marinate in this dressing for 30min or so. Sprinkle with nuts and optionally some flat leaf parsley. It’s great because it doesn’t taste cabbage-y.

The one I use is from the Waitrose website, it’s spiced winter red cabbage and is delish!

Thanks everyone. I will have a look at them all soon.

Borridge that sounds amazing but I am hoping to make and freeze so I have less to do on the day.
