I preferred Christmas as a teen and young adult. We all went to mums and it was great. My sis, brother and mum. Then mum and stepdad, brother and sister.
Now, I have a child with my ltp but we're not that close. It's sad.
Mum and s dad live 2 hours round trip away now and we have to rush xmas day round there to zoom back here to do Boxing Day for partner parents.
At mums this year, it will be step sis, partner, their 3 kids. I will miss my brother, he won't come till after the small kids have gone because he's blind and terrified of stepping on them or their toys. They're all under 5. We rarely see them, but do get on ok.
My sis, hubby and 2 under 3 may get there but we rarely see them and things are delicate as sis was just released from pchsychiatric ward so I don't want to upset her inadvertently.
Also I get stressed by a lot of shrieking so not sure how long I can be indoors with many small children.
I loved our old christmases much more than these ones. I know I sound horrible.
