Hi anyone else dislike the new my little ponys? The 1980s originals where far nicer?
My daughter has asked Santa for some and they have changed so much.

Yes I agree I hate the new ones. I think they look weird and are expensive for bits of plastic. You can get originals on ebay and I found some for my dd in a charity shop. The lager new ones look better and the soft beanie type. Wilko has them both cheap usually.

That should be larger

Me! Dd is getting some and I think they are overpriced and quite garish in all honesty. I had original ponies in the 90's and they were much sweeter and I recall they felt far nicer to play with too.

Tbh I find it really weird that they took the original pony and felt the need to 'beautify' it to meet today's standards. Eg the more human like and attractive shape of the face, and the curved body/elongated legs, the oversized feline eyes with false lash effect and glamorous hair style like a Victoria secrets model....like they are humans and not actually animals. It's just so.....weird. Hmm

My mum thinks I'm just being overly nostalgic but I disagree. Original ponies were better.

I realise I may be overthinking ponies of course.

Ah I like them. They're a lot feistier and smarter with a better message.

I completely agree re the new ponies. Sainsbury do ponies very similar to the originals which are well priced. Definitely worth checking out.

I love the new ponies it's actually quite funny and has a really positive message for young girls imo.
