A 12 yr old boy - how difficult?!

My 12.5 yr old is sporty (Rugby mainly) doesn’t care about scooters, has a bike to get to and from school which was last years gift, doesn’t care about big brand clothes or shoes, likes to read, has a kindle fire, enjoys Scouts.

He doesn’t want anything! I have got a dolls house for his sister, an Amazon echo for his brother and all will get new onesies and books/ games. But I can’t find anything that would pique his interest, I did but a new team rugby shirt but it only cost £9 so I’d like to get him something else too but I’m utterly stuck. The only thing he’s vaguely expressed an interest in is some sort of set up to record himself gaming on the Xbox but I don’t even know where to start with that or how much it would cost.

Any ideas would be most welcome.

Maplin have some kiys you can buy for recording your gaming on the xbox. If you have a local one just go in and ask the staff they are very knowledgeable and happy to talk to technophobes like me.

My rugby mad son is getting a bobble hat from Oddballs apparently they are very popular with rugby kids.

I don't know how far you are away from Twickenham but we did the tour there for ds birthday in September and it was great - good value too - cost me a fortune in the shop afterwards though!!

My almost 12yo ds (loves football and reading but similarly has trouble coming up with a wish list), has asked for a multi panel canvas print for his room this year.

My DS12 is also very sporty (currently taking down our huge jungle gym and putting in a cricket bowling net . His birthday was in September and we got him a drone which he loves!

For Christmas we have got him a Virtual Reality Real Feel headset... we got him the racing car one (comes with a steering wheel) and we've got his sister the fishing one (comes with fishing rod). He actually stumbled across it, after I had bought it, in the T r Us catalogue and went nuts

I know he wants the X-Box One S but will see about that.

He would also love anything to do with cricket, a new bag, bat, balls, pads... anything really, so maybe a new rugby kit for yours? Or a signed ball if you can find one? We're in SA and this entire country is rugby barking mad!!!!

If he likes Scouts you could get him a Swiss Army Knife and have it engraved.

DS1 is having lego mindstorms to share with his brother and also a PS4 VR headset (also to share). Then a couple of board games (ticket to ride expansion, exploding kitten expansion and pandemic) and some PS4 games and some books.

Best subscription we ever bought him was marvel unlimited. It gives them online access to every marvel comic ever written. There are literally thousands on there. DS1 at that point declared himself happy for life.

Also how about a raspberry pi? Great for those interested in coding/gaming etc and v cheap as well as being something they can add bits to
