'Nice' vodka present

I'm pretty much a non drinker, maybe 2/3 glasses of wine a year Blush. I would like to buy our friends a nice bottle of vodka are there any brands that I should look out for? Would go up to about £30. Thanks

Hotel chocolat do some lovely flavoured vodkas. The salted caramel one always goes down well. Otherwise belvedere is nice.

I currently have a lovely bottle brought back from Denmark by my husband. In a metal bottle. Called something like Dansk.... I'll go and look.

cece · 17/11/2017 07:39

Danzka

No idea how much it was but it is very nice!

cece · 17/11/2017 07:39

Plus I am not keen on the flavoured ones....

BarchesterFlowers · 17/11/2017 07:41

I bought a bottle of salted caramel vodka for a friend from Booths recently, I think it was this one.

I don’t drink vodka but it was lovely! They were giving out samples of blood orange vodka in Booths last week, I had a sip, thought it tasted like petrol 😳.

I was given a bottle of Smirnoff on my birthday that was in a white bottle. It looks really cool and the vodka was very smooth.

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 17/11/2017 07:44

Avoid the flavoured ones unless you know they drink them, as I love vodka but can't stand the artificially flavoured varieties.

Stolichnaya is a good one.
Zubrowka is supposed to be good, I've not tried it.
I like Russian Standard.
Absolut is ok.
Avoid Smirnoff or own brands if you want a "nice" gift.
Ciroc and Grey Goose tend to be more than £30.

4forksake · 17/11/2017 07:45

Bison grass polish vodka (which is best served with apple juice) is the nicest vodka I've had

teabagfreak · 17/11/2017 07:47

I would go with Ciroc or Grey Goose as a present.

Smirnoff is good but a bit more “regular”. We buy this for the house regularly however Ciroc or Grey Goose on special occasions.

teabagfreak · 17/11/2017 07:48

@4forksake Bison Grass is good, my Dad loves it although very strong and seems to go straight to his head 😂

4forksake · 17/11/2017 07:58

Teabag, I didn't have too much if it. Sounds like it's just as well I didn't Grin

teabagfreak · 17/11/2017 08:07

It’s a nice vodka and probably one that someone would never think of buying for themselves just to try.

This is very extra.. green shimmery vodka

PlausibleSuit · 17/11/2017 08:08

Chase distillery make lovely vodka. The standard one is smashing, and they also do a delicious marmalade one. Might be a bit over £30 though.

Snow Queen is nice, too. I think it's quite new. Cool bottle. That's about £30 I think. (Not Snow Leopard; that's lovely but it's very pricey.)

teabagfreak · 17/11/2017 08:13

I got this Rekya for my other half for his birthday and he said was lovely, it’s a limited batch.

Yes, bison grass is lovely. I like Russian Standard and Absolut as well.

Tuttytoffee · 17/11/2017 09:12

Chase marmalade vodka is delish. Love the bottle too. £36 on Amazon

Sarahh2014 · 17/11/2017 09:27

Belvedere is nice

MusicToMyEars800 · 17/11/2017 09:31

I would go with Grey Goose or Belvedere.

CarrotVan · 17/11/2017 09:43

There are some really lovely Scottish vodkas. Have a look at Whiskey Exchange for interesting booze
