Shopkins advice

The only thing my 5yo has put on her Santa list is shopkins. I have heard of them but have no real clue what they are or what they do. Is there some sort of starter set I can get her? Grateful for any tips!

shopkins are little tiny figures, some are harder to get than others.

You can buy them in sets of two or in larger pack.of I think.about 10, and you can get playsets which have a couple in. I would get one payset and a larger pack of which ever season they are on to now.

I've just looked on amazon, 12 series 5 shopkins are £11.90.

My daughter got some 2 years ago. Grandma bought an ice cream van which came with 2 shopkins shillings and Father Christmas bought the matching shopkins ice cream set, so she had 8 or 10 altogether. She really liked them, but she doesn't have a lot of interest in collecting them luckily, so that one set is all we have.

Good luck with this my dgd has hundreds and its nearly impossible not to get doubles!
maybe we should start a group!!!!

My dd's love them! If she doesn't already have any argos has a mega set reduced from 20 to £9.99 and has 20 shopkins in it.

If u wanted a playset my girls spend alot of time using the ice cream truck and have a few of the dolls too.

I would recommend a nice tin or bag to store them in aswell :)

Thanks all for the tips. I have just had a look at the playsets, would you recommend any particular ones?

And yes lynmilne65, if the lego cards are anything to go by then will definitely need a swap group!!!!

OP my DD is 7 and mad about Shopkins, she's been collecting them for ages (definitely more than a year) and we have so many but she gets a lot of play with them so even though they drive me crazy they're a good gift for her.

Playsets she has that she plays most with are this and www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/toys/fashion-and-dolls/shopkins/shopkins-scoops-ice-cream-truck-playset/p/145518 and also this

The ice cream truck and the wee shop with the spiral slide and trolley were my dds favourites.

whimsical1975 · 17/11/2017 10:33

OP, Ice Cream Truck seems to be the way to go!

The tall mall playset is about the only play set that has survived and gets played with by dd. www.amazon.co.uk/Shopkins-HPK24000-Tall-Mall-Playset/dp/B01BYC1S4E/ref=sr_1_20?keywords=Shopkins&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1510921611&sr=8-20 .I think the figures are on offer at Argos at the moment?

Why not try and buy some secondhand. I've seen bundles for sale for a lot less than new and they're the kind of toy that doesn't get worn out really.
