If you go on the Nectar site or the app there's regularly double points offers on your next x (6, 8 or 10, depending on how often you shop) swipes with 100 bonus points on your final swipe.

I've also got life and home insurance with them which triples my points all year. Plus gives points for getting them (£75 of points for life and £25 for home).

There's often triple points codes given out both with online shopping and in store.

And if you have a delivery pass you get given 1000 points every now and then just because.

I started 2017 with £10 in points and I've spent around £100 and have just over £80 left (that's without the bonus points for the insurance as they won't be paid until next year).

I use them to pay for my extra Christmas food with them. And double up for booze!

It does pay to shop with Sainsbury's all year, and I don't find them that much dearer than somewhere else.

I managed to get an lol big surprise in Argos today. Stores everywhere have been getting them in stock but it's showing online as out of stock. I called my local one and reserved it and collected straight away. Just in case anyone is looking to waste 60 English pounds on crap lol

Can anyone tell me what age the Tim Peake 'ask an astronaut' book is aimed at? I'd love to get it for DS (5yr) as he's doing space themed stuff at school and went to see Tim Peake's space shuttle the other week on a school trip. I'd mostly be reading the book to him so not thinking readability, more from a comprehension point of view.

My L'occitane order arrived today. I am very pleased with it. I received the festive handy treat which is two tubes of cream in a really beautiful little metal box with tissue paper inside. I also got the christmas cracker with a little tube inside. Plus the samples. The samples are going into my mother in laws christmas cracker for lunch so that is perfect. The others are so nice I am not sure who to give them too as I want them!

Igottastar I have bought Tim peake's book for my dad. It seems to be aimed at all and in relatively simple language so I think it would be fine for you to read to a 5 year old.

And a whinge - we go away on Saturday and I decided to get us some new thermals. Good offers in Sports Direct, so I paid an eye watering amount extra for next day delivery just to be sure. 2 days later, my order is still waiting to be shipped... Their online/telephone customer service is non-existent - automated response to my email telling me my order would be sent 'in the next few days' , and the customer service lines just ring through to an automated message that says they're busy and hangs up on me. So, very unreliable!

You have to swap points for vouchers at customer service desk but can then use them whenever within the dates
