Those buying fingerlings (or anything) from amazon and wondering about fakes. I think there is always a possibility with amazon that something will be fake even if amazon are the seller.
The reason (I read) is that when they sell things for a third party they don't go in a separate shelf. So the third party delivers a blue fingerling to amazon and it is coded as one and put on the shelf with blue fingerlings. When you order a blue fingerling, from whatever seller, it is picked up off the closest shelf containing them (they spread items out around the warehouse and the computer designs algorithms to limit walking for the picker). It is then delivered to you.
So apparently it is always worth checking any items which are known to have fakes that you order even from amazon direct. They will always refund, but seems a silly system to me).
