VR headsets

My DH has mentioned these as being 'really cool'. However I don't have a clue what to look for with them, I've no doubt it will be chucked in a cupboard within 6 months so don't want to spend a fortune. Where do I start? Can anyone help?

My dh has the PlayStation vr and I have to say it really is amazing, it's quite expensive though. Not sure about the cheaper versions, I think you get ones for your smartphone which have good reviews 😊
