Dd8 has asked for a laptop. Now she says she would like this robot. It’s £200. That’s an awful lot. But less than a laptop.

Has anyone got one or seen one? I will hold off to Black Friday in case amazon reduce it at all...but am also just wondering if will be collecting dust by January...

Watching as ds2 (11) is on about one for the second year in a row. I think they look as waste of money and a one day hit??

No one is answering - I am thinking they’ve not been very mainstream due to the extortionate price!!!

We got one for our DS last Christmas (bought in the US).

Like any new toy, they loved it at first and played with it all the time. Then they lost a little interest.

But they still play with him maybe once a week. He is very cute and interactive. There are a few games you can play with him (he gets v cross when he loses!), and I think there is a coding section, which DS1 (11yo) likes.

But £200 is a lot. I think we paid $169, so considerably less - would I pay £200? Maybe, if it was the one thing they really really wanted. But maybe not.

My niece and nephew got one each.
They have sat on a shelf since February. They are pulled down to show friends every so often but then ignored.

These are on offer on Amazon cyber Monday today for £159.. I think £169 in Argos. It’s still the only thing ds2 has requested for second year in a row so I have give in a brought it today. Feeling bit nervous as generally I dont spend that much on a present! (I’m mean and make my dc save money to buy things like an Xbox, pc etc so they appreciate it)

For a moment I thought this was a baby name thread .

And not the worst name ever suggested on here

They were reviewed on a consumer programme earlier in the week, they came out well but it looked as if the kids wouldn't get much of a look in
