Fingerling for 3 year old?

Dd is 3 but will be 4 in April and I'm wondering if she'll be able to play with a fingerling properly. As in will she understand. Has anyone played with one? What sort of things are you supposed to do with it?

Stroke it's head. Let it hold your finger. Let it hang upside down on your finger with its tail. Makes similar noises to a furby X

My almost three year old boy got one , loved it for afew days then lost interest. Other son has one, 5, and he seemed to like it more. They are cute! Batteries ran out really quick on ours

We know our 4YO doesn't know what exactly they are, just that they hold your finger, so we bought a little one on a market stall for 3 quid
