Salt dough decorations

So I am hoping to do this with my dc for the first time. I have never attempted this before. So I am wondering if anybody has any tips. Tia

I have a tip - if you have a dog, hang them high up the tree! Mine ate some and made himself very ill, and expensive!

Sorry about your dog letssplash. So are they really hard to do? Do they look terrible?

I made some - if you want them to be white and not coloured mix watered down white paint in with the dough instead of water.

varnish them extremely well once dry as they absorb any moisture in the air and collapse into a mess otherwise.

Ours last year.
No idea how they look now as they’ve been put in storage ,but they were great fun and easy to make. Quite boring waiting for them to get done in the microwave though.
