Anyone got any recommendations for a Yule log recipe? Was thinking of having one on boxing day. Assume it will keep if I make it on Christmas eve?

This is the one I make it’s yum,log should keep fine once you keep it covered.

I make that one too- it's easy and always works well. You can certainly make it ahead.

Thank you! That one was on my shortlist! Good to know it's nice.

(Have been on diet for 2 months and will be for another 7 weeks - then having a one week interlude and am currently lusting over things I'm going to make and eat!)

Definitely Nigella, not tricky at all and tastes fabulous!

This was recommended on another thread recently

I make merry berry so easy

Doilooklikeatourist · 05/11/2017 21:53

Yep , go with Nigella

TrickyD · 06/11/2017 14:24

The Nigella one is perfect.

I like the idea of a cream based filling to make it a bit less sweet. But i want to make it Christmas Eve and have it on Boxing day and the fridge will be chock full. Reckon the garage would be cool enough to keep it in?!

The Nigella one IS lovely, but it's a flourless sponge so doesn't keep as well as a floury one would. And if it gets too warm, it can go a bit soggy.
