Christmas eve box on the 1st

Iv allways done Christmas eve boxes pj's (not allways christmassy ones but nice ones) hot chocolate dvd etc.
Am thinking of doing it on the 1st instead.
There 11 and 8 boys but love christmassy (elf on the shelves... house hunting for decs) and arnt to cool to join in

What could I pit in.
Am going to put their Christmas duvets in.

I do this but call it an advent box.
I put in pyjamas, Christmas jumpers, Christmas books, Christmas films, advent candle, advent calendar, Christmas mug, hot chooclate and marshmellows, a new decoration from the tree (I try and buy one from somewhere new we have visited that year), Christmas bedding... sure I’m forgetting some stuff. It is actually a large chest rather than a box, but I do have 6 children so it needs to be big!

Ohh yes their advent calendars. New mug and the bits to go with it. We like to choose a new decoration but I could put paper chains etc.

Cake making kit or cookie kit?

I am doing it on 1st this year as we are quite busy on 24th! We have DS (5) - he’s getting PJs (get more wear out of them), Lego City advent calendar and a book.

I give pjs and change all bedding on the 1st (from the elves.....don't judge) I change the bedding while they are asleep and they love it waking up and talk all day about "how did that happen without waking them etc"
Then I do Christmas Eve box on the 24th with carrot, mince pie, magazine/book, craft activity, sweets/ something new like a cup xx

I am going to do this. What a lovely idea. I will put their Christmas DVDs and Santa bowls etc in them.

I'm doing this as well with a "North Pole Breakfast" (no elf on the shelf though-can't be fussed). I'm going to put in a cushion, blanket, pjs, advent calendar, breakfast set and a DVD.

I take out the Christmas bedding set (a Christmas scene duvet cover and a red sheet), DD's Santa fleece blanket, her plastic cup and plate, and 3 Christmassy mugs (1 each), fabric advent calendar, a favourite snowglobe for DD's room, and most of the Christmas story books and dvds, for 1st Dec. Not in a box or anything (DD comes down to the storage unit with me and we drag out the relevant plastic crate), but they are a couple of weeks before the house gets properly decorated. But DD likes to use all these throughout December.

She gets new PJs (sometimes Christmas ones, many times not - but cosy and comfy ones always), a lush bath bomb and naice hot choc, as well as her plastic plate and cup (that have been in use since early Dec, but specifically for Santa's snack that night), her stocking, and the family copy of Twas the Night Before Christmas (annual bedtime story) all in the Christmas Eve box (a cardboard box covered in Christmas wrap, that holds decorations most of the year) on Christmas eve.

Yup usual stuff - card kits, advent calendar etc

I did the CEH on the 1st last year which worked really well so its a New Tradition.

I got large bags instead of boxes:

PJs and Robes
Chocolate Advents Calenders
Some nice bath smells.
I bought DD a Siberian soap (checked that she'd use it first) so she will have that, a Lush bathbomb and a facepack

Christmas mugs

My boys are 12 and 9 and I do a little advent box each for them.

They get -
a mahoosive bar of chocolate,
cola (I liked it when they did the reindeer names on the bottles, otherwise I just buy the glass ones),
pack of cards to send to classmates,
silver & gold pens to write the cards,
paper chains,
Santa/snowman hot water bottle (I just re-use these ones every year and they're only used in Dec)
Santa hat (re-use every year)
Christmas jumper/t-shirt
Christmas mug (re-used yearly)
Random Christmas tat like dancing santa/snowman
Christmas pencils (to take to school)

Also always put Christmas duvet covers on on the 1st.

It's really stuff they'd get anyway but packaged up to make it a little special. I got boxes from Hobbycraft that I painted myself (cheap acrylics from Home Bargains) and I re-use them every year.

Ours is a family box and consists of the following (most is just stuff put away at the end of each year, and only used for Xmas):

All the old Xmas books, plus one new one
The Xmas DVDs
PJs or onesies
fluffy socks or slippers
Xmas bedding
Xmas tablecloth, and other bits and bobs that go on the table for the season
Nice paper (and pen) to write a list for Father Christmas DH and me
Xmas jumpers
Stockings
The (now redundant as DCs are too old) elf

New things include:

New toothbrush (no idea)
Advent calendars
Snowman soup (mix for hot chocolate with marshmallows)
Bath bombs
First mince pies of the season
A family outing (tickets for the cinema or ice rink for example)
Christmas scented candles

DD has her Christmas Bedding on tonight a "DD Tradition" she started a few years ago.
She's just come home from a Hallowe'en night out , freezing cold so ready to snuggle up.
She has the Primark flannel, mismatched, I buy her something new every year like pillowcases or a new sheet .
Not got this years yet , but once the fleece blankets are in, I'll buy her one.

It's a lovely kick start to December 😊🎄

I put all out xmas books and movies wrapped in Christmassy fabric (so reusable!) in our box and they pick one a day as their advent calendars. There's also a quick craft/baking idea on a post it note attached to the front of the book/DVD

On the first of December the elf delivers a Christmas book hamper full with Christmas stories, activities, crafts and colouring books. He also delivers our advent calendar which he fills each night. We also have a Christmas movie hamper with popcorn, mince pies and hot chocolate which normally comes on the first weekend of December. I also give pjs from the 1st of December so my ds gets plenty of use out of them. I've also just bought some Christmas bedding which will be going on his bed on the 1st of December. I make and sell reindeer food so I get that made up with the help of ds on Christmas eve.

I like the usual - pjs, calendar, Xmas books/DVD’s, Xmas chocolate or hot choco.
I also like to get a bunch of Xmas crafts to last through December. The works I find are good for this and usually cheap.

I’ve changed my sons bedding while he was asleep. While he was at school I took his duvet cover and pillowcase off and put on the Christmas ones. Then I put the old covers on top. Once he was in bed and sound asleep I just gently slid the old covers off.
