I was just thinking about all the films I can put on while i'm wrapping presents. There are so many good ones now but which one really makes you feel like its Christmas above all others?

For me its The Grinch.
I love love love the set design, the rhyming verse, the music, the humour. I could recite it backwards!

Polar Express!. You can't beat it. We watch it every Christmas Eve and in the lead up to Christmas. I also love Elf.

Santa clause

Home Alone.

Also love Arthur Christmas.

BitOfFun · 29/10/2017 01:01

'It's A Wonderful Life', obviously.

I love 'Elf' too.

73kittycat73 · 29/10/2017 01:28

Arthur Christmas, Polar Express, and the Snowman and the Snowdog. Don't make me choose, please! Xmas Grin (I think Arthur just edges it. Or maybe Polar Express. See, I can't choose!)

QueuetoaskaQ · 29/10/2017 07:48

Krampus.

Genuinely.

Watched it last night as I thought it was a 'horror (which I was in the mood for) but it was just like a Christmasy Gremlins.

Got me right in the festive spirit.

wobblywonderwoman · 29/10/2017 07:51

I bought the Snowman and The Elf Story yesterday - hoping they are good

VampireLatteDrinker · 29/10/2017 07:53

The Snowman. I'm late to the Snowman as I'm not from here but it's perfect for getting us into the Christmas spirit.

TrinityBelle · 29/10/2017 07:54

'The Box of Delights' is my favourite. I know it's a series not a film but it had such an effect on me as a child. I still get shivers when the theme music starts.

Love Actually.
Will prob think of others!

bushtailadventures · 29/10/2017 08:01

Santa Claus The Movie, not Christmas until I've watched it!

We like The Flint Street Nativity too, although I guess it's a play rather than a film. It's about the only Christmas thing we all watch together

Teddy7878 · 29/10/2017 08:02

Father Christmas
love actually
Home alone 2
Muppet Christmas carol

Isadora2007 · 29/10/2017 08:03

Can I ask which film you’d say would be best for a group of 4-7 year olds and then a group of 8-11s? Doing a movie night at school and I think polar express may be a bit long for the wee ones?

Masonbee · 29/10/2017 08:03

The nightmare before Christmas
Bonus watch this week for Halloween too

LikeSilver · 29/10/2017 08:04

I also love Christmas with the Kranks! And Mrs Miracle 2 Blush

DH despairs.

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel · 29/10/2017 08:04

Muppets Christmas Carol!
And It's a Wonderful Life. And Miracle on 34th Street,, but only the original, not the remake. Oh and I'm rather fond of The Bishop's Wife.

Teddy7878 · 29/10/2017 08:05

Father Christmas for the little ones as it's not too long. Or Arthur Christmas.
Home Alone or Jingle all the way for the older ones

ScaryMonstersAndSuoerCreeps · 29/10/2017 08:09

Isadora Home Alone is popular but has some scenes I wouldn't want a 4 year old to watch. Arthur Christmas or Nativity would be my choice!
